Wholefoods Flemington — Local services in Melbourne

This was my first time to visit, i remember it looking good when I've passed, drove over from Footscray. First girl who helped me find a few things was very nice and knowledgeable, other girl seemed unapproachable, she was the same person who rang up my sale. I noticed there was a 1.6% surcharge on all cards, not just amex, and made a comment that I found that off putting on a general retail purchase. Her first rude comment was 'eftpos does costs money'. Oh really-who would have thought that?! I own a small business, I am fully aware of costs and I would be horrified if one of my staff spat that at one of my customers. I was just a little surprised a quite expensive store would be charging surcharges on all cards. She said she didn't control the charge, I said I am not upset with her personally, simply giving her the feedback. She falsely smiled and said she would be sure to pass it on. 2 stars for a good selection of products and the help I got from first young lady. Will not go back, rather Google other...

I absolutely love our local whole foods store in Flemington. The range of groceries, bulk buys and fresh produce covers all of our growing families weekly needs - from cleaning products, soaps, makeup, sunscreen, soda stream - they have it all. I love that I no longer have to visit big chains anymore - Supporting organic, honest, friendly, local, small business. Jodie, Aleesha, Vicki and all of the girls are always helpful and happy, helping and advising me on the latest products and even on ways to store and cook the food I am am buying.The store is always clean, the products are well stocked, well priced and they offer member discounts on numerous lines continuously which perks my interest to try a new product or two - I have found some great favourites this way. Let me start of by saying the produce is fresh and there is variety. I occasionally visit this shop as I am a local, I like that the staff aren't overbearing however the customer service is lacking.

There is an awkwardness with the staff sometimes as they're not very approachable. Everytime I ask for a receipt there are hesitations and it's always awkward! As a paying customer and a supporter of local and organic produce I expect better service and at least to feel comfortable enough to ask for a receipt- which I'm entitled to. It shouldn't be such a difficult ask!

Anyway, there are better prices elsewhere I might just skip this place...
