We had a lovely brunch here. This is our local and a very fav Cafe. Their herbi and carni breakfasts are amayyyzing!! I had the herbi as usual and really enjoyed everything about it (except the rocket which ive never been a huge fan of). They have a hash brown, half an avocado, a scrumptious amount of grilled haloumi, herbed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes... ooh and they even serve a bit of hollandaise sauce and baked beans in cute little bowls of their own. That beats having it mess and soggy up everything on the plate anyday! I also love the hollandaise in its own little serving because after a while it gets too rich like say in an eggs bennie. This way you control just how much you have. Perfect yummy and extremely filling brunch on any Melbourne day!

I came to this little café looking for some coffee and was pleasantly surprised to find they had an all-day breakfast menu. I tried the Greek Benny, which was absolutely delicious and perfectly portioned. I asked to have the bacon removed, and they kindly replaced it with another add-on—something extremely thoughtful, as not many cafés are that accommodating. I had it with a fresh orange and carrot juice, which was just perfect. We also loved the coffee, and my kids really enjoyed the pastries. The service was super quick, and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Overall, a very nice, cosy café with delicious breakfast—I’d definitely come back!

yummy food, very friendly staff, and great ambience. Highly recommended. Detailed review : 23 March 2021, my first visit to Elephant Cafe, Mt Alexander Road. Food (unique & delicious) - 5/5 Staff(friendly, nice talking) - 5/5 Ambience - 5/5 About food : I had Stampy Chilli, and Green genes. 5 out of 5 for both. The Fried eggs is yummy! Cooked yet succulent (yes eggs are succulent). It's garnished with fresh Chilli slices and goat cheese on top. I also took a veggie panini's for my friend and he absolutely loved it too. With all this lovely experience, I will undoubtedly come again!

Dreadful experience with hair coming out of poached eggs. Which is fine. It happens. I kindly asked for it to be taken care of. The owner kept arguing with me, claiming it was my mum’s hair. Which it can’t be cause it came from directly out of the poached egg itself. The owner was extremely argumentative and kept repeating it wasn’t their fault. The way he approached me and my mum was confrontational and he said he didn’t like the way i was speaking to him. When all I said was “the hair is not my mum’s and you keep repeating it’s not from your staff - where does that leave us?” I did not say anything that can be remotely considered disrespectful.

He even followed us out and kept nagging us about the situation even outside of the cafe.

My mum who’s visiting from overseas was mortified at the situation and extremely disappointed.

To make matters worse, I frequented this cafe for years and have supported them through lockdowns and brought many people here since they opened. Saying i’m extremely disappointed doesn’t...
