Fredeli — Local services in Newcastle-Maitland

Great coffee, delicious all day dining, deli items that are way better than supermarket offerings and fabulous service.

Fredeli is one of my favourite places to have brunch, lunch or afternoon tea and I always take home some beautiful cheese and antipasto selections, some artisan baked bread and ready made fresh or frozen pasta meals. There are fresh pizza bases that you can add to with the array of cheese and salumi (cold cuts) - this can be done in-house to eat in or take away.

The other bonus is that it is air-conditioned inside with alfreso dining outside under umbrellas, overlooking the lake. There is a real Italian feel and look about Fredeli and the service is warm and friendly which is very nice and makes this boutique venue such a special place to...

I had heard they had good pastrami, went in to pick some up...was so glad I did! Pastrami is awesome, decided to stay for a beer...complementary snack of awesome bread, pastrami, olives and roasted tomatos!

After my second beer, I wound up buying the pastrami, some nice salami, and some excellent fresh mozzarella, which he kindly put in a bag with some of the brine to keep fresh.

Fred, who I am assuming is the owner (in case you were wondering what Fred-eli meant) is a super nice guy, willing to answer all your questions and let you taste if you're unsure of what you want.

Apparently they have fantastic sandwiches, but will comment on that next time I'm there, which...

Service was fast and professional. I ordered cappuccino ,my friend a latte and both had a vanilla slice, both were nice, slice was a decent man size too which suited me. We sat outside, which was across from the water, server was quick to take our orders, fill our water glass and take away finished plates quickly which gave us more room to put our things down .Owner came out during service to see how we were going and completed the service with a friendly farewell at end as well as serving us at till, which is rare.
