The bacon on the egg and bacon roll and eggs Florentine was very overcooked for our taste. I understand others may like it like that. Apart from that they were good value for money. The coffees were hot. Service was good. It was fairly busy but we didnt have to wait too long for our order. The biggest disappointment was the hot chocolate. It pays to read the menu obviously because had I known it was deconstructed I would not have ordered it. There was a small container of "chocolate drops" to mix into the milk. The milk hardly changed colour and it just tasted like a glass of hot milk, something I dont like. But at a cost of $6.50 I made the decision to still drink it. As for the atmosphere, sitting on the footpath isn't great. The fumes from the cars parking right next to us wasnt nice. And motor bikes revving up and down the esplanade made it often difficult to have a conversation. It was a lovely morning and we thought it would be nice in the sun enjoying the lake view. Shame he Esplanade is not diverted around the stretch of cafes and restaurants to foot traffic only. Would be much more pleasant. Not the cafes fault. Lots of people were saying the same thing. I'm sure it has been proposed to council but knocked back. Such a shame. Would we go back? Yes. But I would not order the hot chocolate again and we would ask for the bacon to be a lot less well done. We would also choose an inside table. I'm sure our next time will be much more pleasant now we know...
Read moreTried out Glaze for the first time this morning for brunch and was thoroughly impressed! The menu had a number of appetising dishes listed, so it was tough to choose one - in the end I opted for the Poke Bowl. It was absolutely delicious! Chicken, avocado, mushroom, rocket, pumpkin and two big size chunks of haloumi - a very generous serving, at a friendly price, especially compared to other cafes in the area. I was also very happy with the Matcha I ordered. A lot of places don't use enough powder, and you're left with a watered down tasting cup of disappointment - that wasn't the case at Glaze though. The Matcha was perfect, with a good strong Matcha taste. Service was friendly and quick, and you also get a 10% discount for paying with cash. Seriously incredible value and great quality food - will be making this place a...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal breakfast. I had the “Avocado of Sourdough” with a poacher and some Halloumi added + a fresh juice. The quality of the produce used is very obviously high. AMAZING thick caramelised balsamic, lovely fresh feta, soft halloumi with just the right amount of saltiness and a wonderful fresh egg. The sourdough was of good quality and toasted perfectly so I could actually cut through it easily. Attention to detail - a sharp knife for sourdough is a must but most cafes drop the ball on this and give you a butter knife… but not here. Service was so lovely - the lady that served me was kind and smiling. Looked like she actually wanted to be there and she actually cared about the customer experience. 10/10!...
