View is amazing and wait staff attentive. unfortunately there where it stops. No amount any coloured sugar can sweeten what I have to say next. Entree of a 7cm square slab of un - rendered pork belly fat wasn’t pleasant to eat and too many different flavours going on in one plate that didn’t go together. Main meal of confit duck … 2 large Maryland pieces cold and so dry. Flesh was stringy and tough and again too many strong flavours on the same plate. If you say puree veges on the menu I don’t expect lumpy mush! The other main of linguine pasta with seafood .. a bowl of clumped pasta drowning in a sauce that tasted like it was out of a baked bean can , then wedged in the centre was a whole crab and a Balmain bug. It’s hard enough to tackle a long pasta dish while trying to shell seafood over it . It should have been shelled and the meat presented ontop of the pasta ! We thought dessert would redeem the so far disappointing evening. Lime brûlée I think ?? Scrambled egg with soggy sugar ontop . The custard had split and the sugar top was not caramelised enough to create a thin layer of toffee to crack. Instead sandy mouthful of wet sugar. Couldn’t get out fast enough and won’t be back. Don’t recommend this as fine dining experience even though I believe that is how they would like to present themselves. Too many strong flavours not matched up well . Simple is sometimes better. Very...

Celebrating my birthday with my husband. Evening started well at 7pm , sunset was lovely, great ambiance , very small number of customers , ordered a glass of wine but all down hill from there. Entree ordered 2 dozen oysters three ways , waited one hour and received 6 oysters 3 ways after requesting the outstanding oysters waited another 30 minutes to be informed we got the dregs left very poor left overs. Ordered the same seafood taster plate after the customers next to us received an amazing seafood taster plate and 40 minutes later We received the left over dregs of small seafood the watermelon triangle was the largest part of the meal. The crab was tasty but the rest was tasteless. Ordering a second drink took forever . Air con was freezing napkin over shoulder to keep warm . It was 9pm to scared to order dessert for fear we would never get out before 10pm. My daughter gave us a voucher for $140 for Christmas and the manager refused to acknowledge it on my husbands phone. He never heard of airdropping the voucher to his Apple computer or taking the invoice number to confirm. He stood over us in front of all the other customers , told him I could pay for the meal 50 times over felt embarrassed! Overall experience horrible ! My birthday...

Plain awful - saved from total failure by reasonable cocktails. We ate there on a Tuesday night and the menu was slightly unusual so we asked for some help. The vegetarian dish known as "Beetroot Timbale" was described as being like a Pannacotta (in shape only) and was accompanied by various other vegetables including fried bean curd. When we asked what that was like, we were told it was like "fried bean curd". D'uh! We ordered a pork dish and the Beetroot Timbale and they were both awful.

The pork was about 6+ cms deep and with no attempt to turn the largish layer of fat into crackling, bordering on inedible - even with a steak knife. It was served with very small cubes of apple that were dry and would have fitted into one of the serving bins at Subway. I ate around the pork but eventually gave in and advised the staff that it was really tough. Their response was to say that they would tell the chef.

The Timbale of Beetroot (that looked like a panna cotta), was an assortment of unrecognisable vegetables, which could be fun especially if they were local. This turned out not to be the case and this meal was also left largely untouched. The restaurant still charged the full amount for the meal and we will never go...

We visited on a Saturday night. Unfortunately first and last visit. It was very disappointing. The cosmopolitan was unbalanced: too strong too bitter. The entree grilled octopus was too tough and unpleasant to eat, not tenderised enough. The arancini ok but not enough sauce and garnished with a flat salad side, no love there. Steak mignon wrapped in bacon tasted like the meat was past a couple days its due date, very unpleasant taste. The seafood platter, again disappointing for the price but the oysters were fresh and juicy and squid tender (in the photo I had eaten most of it in fact) The chips were delicious but on a seafood platter rate zero for me. The service was good. The decor is tired, the atmosphere is cosy but way too dark: I must be getting old but I struggled to see what was on my plate. Sorry guys, this was a trainwreck.

Chose this Restaurant for our 33rd Anniversary Lunch upon recommendation to try Brown Sugar for great food and atmosphere. We were not disappointed, we were surprised to gain a window table after being told the window area was full upon booking the day before. On the day, the staff thoughtfully arranged seating to accomodate a window for us. We enjoyed drinks in gorgeous vintage style glassware. Entrees fresh and delicious. Our Mains , beautifully presented, the steak cooked to perfection as ordered . Lovely Dessert. Im fussy with coffee, can say it was one of the best I've had at a Restaurant. Our Waitress was welcoming on arrival, attentive and served us with a smile. Will definitely return here.

This was a great venue for a friend's 'significant birthday ' recently. We gathered and took ages to decide what to have from an extensive menu. In the end, we all chose from the two course menu option for lunch. I had the barramundi and chips which came with a pear and walnut salad. Just delicious. Dessert for me was a lemon lime tart. Another party chose the chicken and potato plate with a biscotti dessert. A third ordered beef cheeks with a dessert of lemon meringue pie. Service was great. The wine selection was quite extensive and the view pretty spectacular with the lake right there. Just great.
