South Coast Surf — Local services in Normanville

I recently purchased a pair of thongs from South Coast Surf Shop, but they didn’t fit, and the store didn’t have any other sizes available. When I returned them with tags attached and requested a refund, I was told that refunds were not allowed, despite this policy not being disclosed at the time of purchase.

I returned to speak with the owner, but she was dismissive, rude, and reluctant to provide a refund, stating she needed the money. When we suggested that the refund policy should be clearly disclosed before purchase, she took offense to our feedback.

Later that day, the owner posted a passive-aggressive Instagram post about our complaint, implying we were being abusive.

This shop’s treatment of customers is appalling. When a refund was requested, both a staff member and the manager/owner responded with shocking rudeness and condescension. To make matters worse, there was no signage indicating a ‘no refund’ policy anywhere in the store.

Their behavior wasn’t just unprofessional — it was blatantly racist. Such conduct has no place in any business.

For lack of better words, these individuals are sorry excuses for human beings, demonstrating a complete lack of decency and respect.

Just went here to grab a pair of sunnies and the lady that runs the shop, (I’m assuming from how she behaved), had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. Told us that they didn’t sell a certain brand when I was literally looking at the same brand of sunnies on the wall. Just asked if they had a pair of floating glasses and the girl was extremely rude and gave us useless information. When I told her not to worry about it she went stone cold, didn’t say a word and just looked me up and down. Stay away from here! Another surf shop opening just down the road in 6 weeks, find it and go there instead....
