Terrible Brunch Experience at Caffe On Bungala – Not Worth Your Time or Money!
I recently visited Caffe On Bungala with my friends for brunch, and we must say, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have had in a long time. From the moment we sat down, things started going downhill, and it never picked up.
Let’s start with the food. We ordered what we assumed would be a simple, fresh, and well-prepared meal, but what we got was quite the opposite. The bread they served was drenched in oil, making it almost inedible. I’m not exaggerating when I say it tasted like it had been dipped in a vat of grease. As if that wasn’t bad enough, my dish came with big mushroom pieces exactly one mushroom cut in half – as no one bother to make food pleasing for the eyes. The lack of effort in the presentation was immediately noticeable. No garnish, no attention to detail, just a sad, oily plate of disappointment. One of my friend also ordered a fresh juice, expecting something freshly squeezed or at least tasting fresh. Instead, she was handed what was obviously canned juice. It was bland, artificial-tasting, and nowhere near what was promised on the menu.
The overall cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. The oil used in the food didn’t just taste bad, it actually smelled bad, which is a huge red flag for any kitchen. To make matters worse, the spoon kept with coffee cup was not properly cleaned – a basic requirement that any restaurant should meet. Honestly, it seems like someone licked it before sending it to our table.
And for all this poor-quality food and lack of hygiene, the prices were exorbitant! It’s as if they are charging for a five-star experience but delivering something that would struggle to meet the standards of a low-grade diner. For the amount they charge, you'd expect at least some level of care and quality, but there was none to be found. So in last moral of the story. Save your money and avoid this...
Read moreMy partner and I stumbled upon this place while looking to grab something to go with our dog yesterday. They had a big sign saying "dog friendly" on the fence next to their back garden seating area, so instead of grabbing something quickly we opted to dine in because it looked so inviting, with lots of shade for our pup.
We had the eggs benedict and it was delicious. The meal was plated nicely and the portion size was also generous. We really enjoyed our meal and coffees.
The customer service was also very friendly. I had a few of the staff make sure Luna got a dog biscuit and the gentleman who served us was super nice and attentive despite it being busy.
We definitely plan on making sure to return before we leave town for...
Read moreThere was an unfriendly staff member at the front counter with the expression of a disgruntled bull dog. The younger staff were friendly and helpful. The food is overpriced. I ordered a BLT and compliments to the cook. The taste of the BLT was fresh with a good amount of tomato and lettuce, with good quality bacon. The place claims to have "great coffee." The coffee cost $8.00! It was large, but the taste of burnt milk overpowered the overall experience. Overall experience: Poor. Recommendations: Use a thermometer when frothing milk. Temperature is important for quality. Utilise a friendly staff member at the front counter who actually wants to be there as first...
