Phoenix Asian Shop — Local services in Spearwood

Disapapointed and disappointed over and over again. I had been to this Asian shop for a long time prior to the new management ( the current one). I wish the old management were still there ☹. I can see that Phoenix Asian shop is full stocked up, which is very impressive. However, they seem to focus on stocking up Philippines’ products. They do not have simple almost all Asian favourite. This includes but not limited to salted duck eggs and century eggs. Every time I went there , I hoped they had the ingredients I need. No need to say, I always walked out empty handed. Once, I went there and seeked a specific sauce which the old owner sold. A young lady attended me and promised to order some in for me. I was looking forward to their arrival. I gave her almost a month before revisiting. Needless to say, I walked out of the store disappointed and frustrated. The other time, I asked whether they had frozen Thai-styled sausage. A lady came to served me. Of course, there was not what I desired. So I asked that lady which sausages were a bit sour or spicy here. She seemed lost as if she had no knowledge of the products. I ended up purchasing the one she recommended. I tried a small chunk of it, it contained nothing close to sour or spicy ingredient. In fact, the sausage was awfully sweet. Another time, I went to Phoenix Asian, looking for the Cardamon seed. As per usual, I did not have to spend money there. In terms of the location, I am sorry to say that it is quite dodgy ( well not their fault) but, perhaps more lighting at night time might help. They only receive 2 stars because the staffs ( I trust this shop is family business) are nice and friendly. I do not think I will return ever again. Yet, I give them benefit of doubt that I might be an unlucky customer whose needs were...

Honestly, It was great till it wasn't I wanted to call and get in touch with the owner to praise their quality and customer service. It seems like the daughter answered the phone call and when I asked about getting in touch with the owner, I hear "Mum someone wants to talk to you" the mother says something and then the daughter comes back and says that the "owner is not here" I understand privacy but blatantly lying about stuff like that is not on and I do not recommend anyone to shop in this business, clearly the daughter need to re-learn values and ethics.

Phoenix Asian Shop has an incredible selection of Filipino products — from classic snacks like Chippy and Piattos to pantry staples like Datu Puti vinegar, Silver Swan soy sauce, and even pandesal. They even stock frozen longganisa, tocino, and bangus! The staffs are warm and welcoming, and shopping here always feels like a little trip back home.
