Overall, Steamroller brings the artisanal Inner West vibe to the traditional Earlwood strip, with a focus on great quality coffee, prepared with discipline.
However, I've always found the service to be extremely dry and devoid of any personality (or much friendliness), which is actually unlike the Inner West, and also unlike Earlwood.
Earlwood already has a load of cafes that do coffee that's virtually on par with this, serve a little faster (there's usually quite a long wait during peak times), have longer daytime hours and have friendlier service.
Steamroller seems to work better as a place to enjoy a slow early morning coffee (well before noon) with a newspaper; otherwise just be prepared to stare at your phone while you wait for your brew then collect it without any real personal impact...
