Horden Pavilion needs to get their security on check. Terrible experience with one of the security guards. I was filming on my 2000s JVC āvintageācamcorder (as i record and edit videos for my sentimental value). I was filming short 10-30 second clips of the concert and other security guards saw i was filming and was okay with it until this male, caucasian, bald, short security guard confiscated it from me (didnāt get his name) and i tried to ask nicely where I can pick it up after the concert but he was being very rude and talking on top of me and shouting at me talking like I was a child. I complied and I still didnāt know where i could pick it up from (plus it was my property and i had other videos on there that was not relevant to the concert). I went back to talk to the security guards clearly upset from the way he handled the situation and asked what was going to happen with my camera. As i was speaking to the security guards they told me āprofessional filming was prohibitedā when my camera was an old handheld camcorder thats not even a āprofessional cameraā my phone can shoot in 4kā¦. so whats the difference?By the time I talked to the security guards all my footage was deleted including my old videos that was irrelevant to the concert! Thats most of my memories gone! They did not have my permission to delete anything nor did they allow me to delete it myself. I understand deleting the concert footage, but to wipe out my whole SD card without my consent?? Even after I complied with getting my camera confiscated. I was extremely upset. I usually donāt write reviews or complainā¦. but this was ridiculous. I also read the condition of entry and had my bag checked and they saw my camcorder and let me keep it, Thereās nothing in the condition of entry talking about ādeleting footageā. I donāt care i lost concert footage, i get that⦠but all my other footage/memories are gone because of that security guard. This was 27th November Steve...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTHE PLACE WAS FUN. BUT 1 STAR RATING? Let me explain. The tickets I bought for Mardi gras couple of years ago and this year Horrorween are both are exorbitant. Totally not worth it. I was so annoyed that I refused to take the compensation tickets from Mardi Gras.
Here's is the entry procedure: Ticket check, security check, cloak and party. One need to look at the amount of everyday useful things thrown at the security check - it's a disaster. They threw my paracetamol and ibuprofen which I always carry in my bag for unexpected Migraine attacks. They also threw my brand new pocket of mouth freshener - I bought it couple of weeks ago and it was in the bag ever since but never used - thrown. They run such a business, why can't they just have a choice to have a cloak before the security check so that people can leave their stuffs safely and not take it inside? I am surprised that they can't think of such a tiny detail. Funny thing is, they throw medicines, mouth fresheners and gums but they let every other sort of drugs conveniently - jokes on them and on us.
Oh yes, I'm going to say it, ARQ is much more fun than this expensive piece of.. I might never go to any party in this venue again. I'd rather stick to ARQ and Universal.
Ah wait, b the HP parties ends at 2. Haha. Seriously?
As of the venue, assuming, the party organisers have nothing to do with the actual venue, it's a nice place.
I hope the venue management set these rules so not too waste so much personal stuffs throwing it in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe venue always has a bad reputation for its Security and organization. I have been going to the Hordern for 10+ years and every time has been a different experience weather it be positive or negative I have still enjoyed the concerts as that's the main thing. However the delay at the B-52's and Simple Minds was very frustrating as people were waiting in line in the 30 degree + with no water bottles as they are "prohibited" by the venue. Security would walk past and not talk to anyone. While we were trying to ask what was going on, A weird man in line was being rude to us and security did nothing. However, the concert was amazing. Although it was summer time, Air Conditioning doesn't seem to exist in the building. So it was bloody hot for the whole night and as the "No bottled water " law implies everyone ran straight to the bar during the intermission, the line was so long we couldn't get any water. Although minor setbacks aside, I do enjoy actually SEEING concerts here. Was up front for the B-52's and Simple Minds I have no idea what people are complaining about the sound was fine and I could hear everyone clearly for both acts. And I think it's a good venue. Maybe the staff and organization needs a major overhaul and be more respectful to its paying customers, and the "No Bottled Water" rule needs to be seriously re-considered. Concerts here have always been memorable. Please don't let stuff like that ruin the experience for its...
