I always go here for my spices, achars, pulses, parathas and snacks. They have a massive collection of spices and grains. The staff and very helpful when you have questions about the products. Their prices is reasonable as well (cheaper for some stuff than big supermarkets).

But what the best thing about this place is, how they handled the recent wave of panic buying. The store owner imposed strict limits on essential items so everyone could get what they needed despite him and his staff getting bullied by unreasonable hoarders for imposing limits. Excellent on all counts : service, price, range of products, quality, customer assistance. Bought a iron tava from here. Pack of whole meal roti. Staff knew I wanted whole grain and no preservatives or oils- just water and wheat. No yeast. Yeast night be why bread makes you blower. If this is the case try Spelt from the Newtown health food store. Also bought a bottle of pickle which took me all the back to Arundhati Roy's God of Small Things - who can forget Rachel and Estha and . Will I return?...

The owner is so arrogant. Had a frown throughout his face and replied rudely to anything you ask him. The place is cramped and the staff kept interrupting us and was walking in the same aisle while there was clearly no place to stand. (maybe to see if we were stealing)

There is a good enough selection of products so one doesn't not have to go to harris park to buy stuff. However, there's another Indian store nearby. I'd prefer going there and not having to meet that arrogant...
