Located at The Entertainment Quarter, 206 Bent Street, Moore Park, New South Wales, Australia 🇩đŸ‡ș This is a pretty good cinematic experience to come here but I think it’s pretty similar to other Hoyts Cinemas I have been to. No more and no less. Very clean and impressively designed, creating an inviting, atmosphere. The seats in the cinemas are sooo comfortable and I love that you can fully recline your seat. The food and beverage is expensive but that’s to be expected. The selection of beverages including wines and beer is pretty impressive but also again, expensive. I paid $22.00 concession (membership price) concession which I thought was expensive. I booked my ticket on the Hoyts App. The staff were courteous but you could tell their heart was there. They didn’t seem to care either way. I wanted to get a frozen drink but the machine wasn’t ready yet (it was the beginning of the day), I feel they should have got the machine ready so that can buy these drinks from the first movie session. Unless you have a car, getting to this cinema is a bit of a track. I had to get the light rail 🚈 from Central Station to the Moore Park light rail stop and walk from there. I came to this cinema because I heard it was pretty good but I don’t think I would really go out of my way to come back. It’s a good cinema and if you drive, I would recommend. Average đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

Went to the Onyx cinema because I heard the screen was amazing... Overall viewing experience was fine, but nothing overly special. Got there 30 minutes before the movie started, entered because there wasn't anyone inside. It was a mess, staff had plenty of time between sessions to clean, but they obviously did not. As you can see in my pictures, there's popcorn dumped on the floor, trash left on seats and in the 30 minutes I was in there waiting not one staff member walked in to even investigate if the place needed cleaning. The screen, sure it looked nicer than the ordinary screen, but don't go out of your way to experience it. It wasn't that much of a step up from your average cinema screen. Sound quality was meh, like watching a movie at home with regular surround sound speakers. After you wipe all the popcorn off the seats, they're fairly comfortable. The rows are nicely separated and private. The emergency exit lights are a bit bright and distracting, but not much you can do about that. Used my discover voucher, so I saw the movie for only 80c, so at least I don't feel ripped off, but I wouldn't want to pay full price for this "experience". To top it off, getting here sucks unless you have a car. Transport options are lacking big time.

DO NOT ATTEND PREMIERE'S HERE! I attended the Fantastic Four premiere in Sydney and after a 10 hour wait, we were shoved behind media unable to get a picture or autograph while the other barricade containing people who came late and jumped the queue received all of these, and videos, and memorable interactions despite us respecting all the requirements of HOYTS workers. The only compensation we received was the police telling us, "They're not coming back out," once they finished with the other side and entered the cinema. Waste of a day better spent at home watching the reels. EDIT: On top of this, I've been fed a lousy excuse by HOYTS stating they were not the organisers and leaving it at that without a reference to the actual organisers and if you scroll you can see they use the same copy and paste answer for every other review regarding the Fantastic Four premiere. Says a lot about their customer service. Not worth wasting your time and effort going here.

Plus side: Easy Parking, Usually plenty sits available, good cinema in terms of tech (sits, sound, screen)

Negatives: We were on Hoyts Lux show (theater 6) on Avatar move (+/- 3 h 15 min). First the signs to get to that theater are not clear. It says on the wall that theater 6 is on right (1-6 -- and 7

Came to see a new film with some friends. Movie was great, the Luxe was comfortable. What pissed me off was the lack of customer service from the workers. When we arrived, the lady at the counter first directed us to the wrong cinema that was up 2 levels and actually closed. We finally found the right room but were late 10min to see the film intro. I decided to order some food about 30 minutes into the film, and ordered a simple pizza and fries, paid on the spot which was convenient.

Come 10min before the movie actually finishes, food still didn't arrive, and I went to the bar to figure out what the hell happened to my food that I paid $49 for. There were 7 workers all just standing, talking behind the bar, and they all hushed when I came to ask where my food was. One of them had stated they "got my seat number wrong" which is honestly shocking to me, cause wouldn't you take the food into the cinema and just see who didn't receive their food? Or just go around and ask quietly? It's really not that hard. Instead, they were probably waiting for me to come to the bar so they don't have to go find who ordered it, and were like "Oh we have the food, do you still want it?" Why would I want food I ordered an hour ago that's probably been sitting there for half an hour and cooled off? No I don't want the food anymore cause the movie is nearly done! I only give an extra star because they were kind enough to give me a refund when I asked for it.

Sorry, but the customer service ain't really it. At least look like you're busy, or don't let the food sit there and come look for whoever ordered it, there weren't that many people in my cinema screening. It's really not rocket science. I work in customer service, and this is really a testament to the reason why people are slowly opting away from cinemas. Thought I'd try Hoyts, but was just so underwhelming to be honest. Never liked...
