Kufstein train station allows you to get to Munich airport for 9 euros, in just over an hour, and enjoy reading and view. The regional train BRB RB54 is comfortable, with varied schedules, plenty of seats, clean, great air conditioning, although bulky luggage you have to put next to you, since there are no spaces to leave your bags and it is almost impossible to leave them in the upper space over your head. It also does not have numbered seats.
There are also Euro City trains for a cost between 28 -34 euros depending on the time schedules, 20 minutes faster than the Regional, and you can choose a seat.
I traveled in the first one to the Munich East station, where I changed to the subway to get to the airport. Quiet, uncomplicated and cheap trip if you have time before...
Read moreA small railway station with only one platform. But it is clean and tidy. To get to the platform, we need to go downstairs and then go upstairs with other staircase located just nearby. Wheel chair accessible as there is an elevator. And there are cubic space to sit and wait to stay warm. There is no ticket office! Tickets must be bought out of the ticket machine. You can pay by cash or card, then a paper ticket is issued instantly. A vending machine is there for quick snacks. Just near the station outside, there is a bus stop to travel conveniently.(Busses might not run very frequently, yet there's a time table attached in the bus stop and there's a live bus status LED board fixed.) Read moreI can't say this is my favorite bahnhof but I must say there is something magical about this place the way the air smells when the train leaves the station is simply divine ... As for the facilities I think the toilets could do with a extra clean here or there ... Don't attempt anything funny though as security is tight .... And dancing is strictly prohibited as this is Austria so it's best to grow a beard...
