It's actually zero stars. I had items from another store in my bag today and it was insinuated I was stealing from the store when I went to pay for my items and subjected to a bag check.I consented as I was shocked since I had been going to this Delhaize for 3 years, multiple times a week. I would often have bags with me and never had any issue.
Well a young cashier rummaged through my bag today and decided she didn't like that I went to another store. Albeit, I did not have my receipt, I apologies showing the payment on my phone and offered to go to the store and get the receipt.
She called the manager, refusing to even acknowledge me and quite frankly, humiliating me in front of everyone.I spoke to the manager, someone I have never seen on the floor btw and was equally baffled. No one told me why I was having my bag checked and no one else. I told her she lost a regular customer and she said "that's no problem." Well as a manager, it should be.
Maybe it's just me but I think as public-facing staff you should be observant and know your regular customers. Awful place with zero customer...
Read moreThe tall black guy was super rude this evening and I don’t know why. He said I quote” ce n’est pas nous qui en retard, si vous êtes en retard ne venez pas au magasin “ wow I go there almost everyday. I don’t know what is his role there but this is not the way you talk to the customer. I was waiting in the line, because a woman forgot to buy her avocados then her items more than 100€ and she needed to put back some items. It is your responsibility to facilitate the flow at the cashier if such thing happens, and you don’t let one customer blocks the whole flows. No apologies for wait and you say don’t come to the shop if you think you’re late. The girl cashier was really friendly and was so embarrassed how he said those words out. Please do something’s. My husband and I spend a lot of money there almost everyday as we love in the...
Read moreI have been a regular customer at this Delhaize for a long time and never had any problems in the past. However, during my recent visit, the cashier told me to check my own bag because “there are many thieves.” Her tone was far from appropriate or polite, and I found the experience extremely unpleasant.
From reading other customers’ comments, it seems that some staff members regularly ask people to open their bags. I’m sorry, but carrying a bag does not make someone a thief — I might be coming from the gym, work, or elsewhere. If theft prevention is a concern, the supermarket should invest in proper measures such as cameras or better staff training, not in making random customers feel uncomfortable and singled out.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable. I should have asked for the cashier’s name, and if this happens...
