Cravings Fine Foods Fails to Show-up!
If your family event is important to you, then Cravings is not a trustworthy choice. Craving's failure to show up and deliver the dinner for our planed and confirmed Family Celebration was heartbreaking.
The worst possible scenario for any special event, is the caterer whom, you have worked with closely and are trusting to prepare and provide the meal as promised, fail to arrive! It is one thing to under deliver the quality of food expected, but inexcusable not to show up at all!
Cravings failed to uphold their professional responsibility to cater the celebration of our Mom’s 90th birthday as trusted. This was the first family gathering after almost 18 months of Covid restrictions and isolation and one where we wanted to celebrate the resilience of this amazing woman who lived alone the whole time!
The following timeline demonstrates the advanced and careful planning at our end and Cravings knowledge, and professional commitment to the celebration itself.
June 9th – Event Date Confirmed and Contract Signed. June 9th- 50% Deposit Made for Family Event. August 15th - Final numbers confirmed with Cravings. August 19th – Final Payment Made August 21st – Cravings fails to show for the event leaving guests waiting 2 hours for a dinner that never arrived. Phone calls were not returned on that day or since. August 23rd – Received a full refund.
Failure to Deliver or Failure of Character? Choosing not to follow through on a commitment happens, but choosing to avoid taking responsibility for your choice is worse. Leaving your client to suffer when you could have made other arrangements and not returning their distress calls, is unconscionable. Not only did our family suffer as a result of their choice, but Cravings hurt their professional colleagues by not referring business they did not want or could not manage. Colleagues who had all suffered with the restrictions of Covid and the direct impact on their businesses and the staff they employ.
4 weeks later we had a Family Wedding and a number of family gatherings over the week-end (all outside). There are 3 Caterers who did honour their commitment and provided outstanding service and scrumptious food.
Caterers you and your family can trust to show up! All of them travelled to accommodate our event in Simcoe County and restaurant owners/chefs who all travelled to the Simcoe County area to make the wedding weekend special.
The Boathouse Eatery, Midland provided amazing mouth- watering food for two events. A small intimate dinner for the immediate family of the bride and groom and a larger outdoor family gathering, with appetizers and sit down dinner. Amazing chef and staff. A Million Mouthfuls Catering -Newmarket delivered a delicious wedding BBQ. Chef and owner Anne-Marie went above and beyond and she showed up! Kivas Bakery and Restaurant, Toronto, delivered an appetizing Sunday Brunch. Travelled a distance to make this happen and showed up!
Choose your Caterer wisely and ask them if they have ever failed to deliver the meal and if so, how did they compensate their customer? How did they take responsibility for the damaged caused and what effort was made to "make things right"?
The question of it being a failure to deliver or the failure of character is often distinguished in how one takes responsibility for their choices and their...
Read moreI absolutely love this place! I work around the corner from it and there is nothing in the area that comes close to it. Everything is fast food or your typical franchise, there are a couple places that do not fall into either of those categories, but this place is above them all by far. The quality and attention to detail that goes into each and everything that they make and sell is amazing. They have prepared meals, which are made fresh with fresh ingredients that are perfect for taking home and a time saver. I am a big fan of their soups, not any junk in them, real natural things that you can easily pronounce and don't have to look up to figure out what they are. The staff is also super friendly and very accommodating. This place has a cafe tag, but I think it also needs a market tag as they have all kinds of sauces, rubs, chips, dips, soups, meals and more that you can choose from. Lunch time is a great time to go there and I often find myself walking over, lots of delicious food, sandwiches and salads are just the start. Everything I have tried is so flavourful and I definitely recommend you give it a...
Read moreCravings is incredible!! The food that comes out of this amazing place will leave you speechless, and wanting more! Today we ran an ice diving course down at Centennial Beach. Sean and Ashley brought down about 8-10 pizzas for the whole crew. They had creative names, which were the 3 digit airport designation codes, each of which represented a flavour explosion representative of that city. We couldn’t get enough. It’s rare that I’d say I’d have paid twice as much for restaurant food, but this would have been worth every penny. Sean and Ashley... congratulations on creating something really special. Looking forward to more!! You have to check these guys out and have them cater tour...
