This place has gone down hill recently. About a year or so ago this was our 'go to' sushi restaurant, ingredients were fresh, customer service was great and the restaurant was clean. Unfortunately everything has changed.
On Saturday, we visited for dinner and the place was packed. We ended up getting sat beside a family of 6, basically at the same table (they pulled it 2 inches apart), even though there were smaller tables available.
The waitress that took our drink order was wearing what looked like clothes that she just finished painting a room in, at first we didn't even realize she worked there because everyone else was wearing a red uniform. It took another few minutes for them to come back with our drinks as well as the tablet to even begin ordering.
With the place being so busy, the wait for sushi was a bit longer than normal, but usually their sushi is worth the wait.... we were wrong. We ordered multiple rolls and they all tasted the exact same way- no flavour, and no presentation as they look like they were just rolled onto the plate.
While we were waiting for our final items, upon looking around I noticed that most of the lights are out making the place dim, the fish tank was overcrowded and dirty, and none of the servers smiled.
When standing in line to pay (since they only have 1 terminal and it's apparently stationary), we were in a line up of a few people. The delivery driver was trying to leave and very rudely pushed himself through the crowd without so much as an excuse me, just repeated 'beep beep' until he was through. This was the cherry on top of an awful experience and what made me write this review.
Save yourself the drive & the $$ and find another place to eat sushi. Maybe their new location on Anne street is where all the talented chefs & friendly staff moved to?
After our experience over the weekend, we will be finding another...
Read moreThe food is decent not the best. Waitresses except for one were not very friendly . We arrived at 8:30 pm and they closed at 9:30 pm. We were advised that last order would be at 9:15 pm and we were ok with that. We had ample time for two people and we are fast eaters. Our tea was barely luke warm but it was replenished often. Most of the food arrived promptly but practically thrown on the table lol. The tablet didn't work for our second order and after struggling to get a waitresses attention it was placed. Upon delivery we were told that if we wanted dessert to order it now as one waitresses was washing the floors with a mop. We almost had to lift our feet up as did the people at the other table lol. No problem it was 8:50 pm. We received our dessert (ice cream) immediately but before our second order but we laughed about it. As we received our second order we realized that we never received part of our first order lol. We ate our desserts and it was excellent. Luckily the ice cream wasn't melted because the bowls are chilled first. After we were done and about to go pay we received the last part of our order lol. We ate very quickly so not to get charged for uneaten food since it was an all you can eat. We were paid and out the door before 9:30 pm. And then we laughed some more. This was my second time here about a year apart and unfortuneltly the waitresses both times were not very good and friendly. They are more delivery robots then waitresses. I won't say I'm never going back because we had a good laugh and our belies were full but it won't be my first choice for sure. I also found it a bit pricey for...
Read moreWent to this location for the first time because the Anne one was closed, it was late afternoon and I was the only one in the restaurant. The food was good but we were missing several things. We ordered things that came in portions of (1) specifically because we like them and we ended up getting assorted tempura veggies and didn't even get the ones we ordered, ordered 4 potato croquets and got 1, recieved tempura yam instead of potato croquets the second time around. The first round of food was nicely garnished and organized but the food that came after wasnt presented as nicely. The regular salad was just WET lettuce, no cucumber or carrots, barely any dressing.
For dessert we ordered tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake, ice cream and sesame balls- the tiramisu and chocolate cake were COMPLETELY frozen, the sesame balls were over cooked, the ice cream was fine lol
The staff was nice but not the kind of service I'm expecting when the restaurant is completely empty. OH, I'd also like to mention that the server made an unnecessary comment about my friend switching chairs to use a "stronger" one. I don't know where you get the entitlement to make that kind of comment? Washrooms were very clean!
