Ordered a gluten free cake for Father's Day, and was told it was acceptable for my mother who is a celiac. After beginning, to eat the cake, my mother began to feel ill, due to cross contamination from the cake. I then phoned to attempt to resolve the issue and was not helped. I then asked for a manager to which I was told, "I don't know" regarding whether they were there. They proceeded to call back and hang up on me twice. So then I went to the store to attempt to gain an answer and a resolution. An employee, who said he was the manager, then later revealed he was the owner, was of no help. He argued with me blaming the cooking prior (from my father who is a Red Seal chef). He also said that this was untrue, odd considering he had no way of knowing. He then continued to insult my intelligence by saying there was no way my mother could be sick. Another employee, probably sensing my frustration, attempted to help and mentioned that cross contamination could be possible. He then continued to argue with me eventually returning my money after that was all I had asked for origninally. This, however, was not before he had threateningly waved his hands in my face and told me "how could he know that each cake is right when he has thousands of customers" I am appalled with how they deemed it appropriate to treat customers. To be berated and yelled at in such a manner was definitely not something I thought I would encounter when attempted to do a nice thing for Father's Day. Would recommend all stay away from this man and his establishment as he does nothing to demonstrate that he cares about the people he supposedly tries to serve. Will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāļøāļøāļø (3/5) I recently visited Baskin Robbins in Burlington and hereās my detailed take: š¦ Ice Cream Quality: As always, the ice creams were tasty, fresh, and the flavors did not disappoint. Baskin Robbins never really goes wrong when it comes to quality. š Customer Service: The staff was polite and friendly. I was greeted properly when I walked in and got a nice goodbye when leaving. Small gestures, but they matter. š» Cleanliness: The washroom was clean and hygienic, which is always a big plus. š æļø Parking & Location: Parking is not an issue here at allāthere are plenty of spots available. Plus, the plaza has other stores, including grocery options, so you can get multiple errands done in one place. š° Pricing Issue: This is where I had a problem. In Mississauga, I got two pre-packs of sundae for $20.99, but here the exact same packs were priced at $24.99. Same ice cream, same size, but higher costāthis doesnāt sit well with me. I feel pricing should be consistent across stores, especially for pre-packs. āļø Overall: Iām giving this location 3 stars only because of the pricing issue. The ice cream is good, service is good, cleanliness is good, but paying extra for the exact same thing compared to other locations just doesnāt feel fair. Unless they fix their pricing, I wouldnāt really recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook a 20 minute walk there on a hot Sunday afternoon with my family, they didnāt have waffle cones and the scoops were very small which is fine but what really upset me was the fact they would not let my pregnant wife use the washroom. She explained to the manager (possibly the owner) that she was pregnant and had walked all the way there, it was an emergency and still would not allow her to use it. I understand Covid is still an issue and we need to be aware of it. But this is inhumane and I am truly disgusted that people use Covid as an excuse to close their washrooms. Itās laziness. Itās not a bylaw to have the washrooms closed and there are plenty of studies showing that Covid is a virus and is not transmittable by touching surfaces! At this stage in the pandemic, all of the other businesses Iāve been to lately have had their washrooms available for customers to use. When I went in to talk to the manager he took all the blame off of himself and simply blamed Covid, and he said there is a washroom in Fortinos, which is not the point⦠I am his customer not Fortinos! Next time Iāll buy a tub of ice cream from Fortinos and stop for a washroom break...
