This is a bit long but they are worth the time investment to give this feedback. My screen was pulled off my phone by a phone charger that had suction cups that was handed out at Boots and Hearts. I took it to my service provider Koodo, they were unable to do anything about it, but referred me to a kiosk at Mapleview Mall (Cellular Repair & Accessories), which was the worst experience ever, he didn't want to deal with my phone, verbally cut me off shut me down and couldn't get rid of me fast enough. When I thought I was going to loose everything on my phone, my sister sent me here, to Tech Emporium her words were; "You need to go to Tech Emporium. This guy is a miracle worker. If anyone can help you, he can. And always super nice". I phoned first and left a message, they called back within 10 minutes (it's now 5:30 pm) and said if I brought my phone to them they would have it fixed in 1 hour and they did! My phone is a much older model (an iPhone 5S) I like the smaller phone, to replace it with a new one I was looking at an iPhone 13. So if the fact that he just fixed my really old phone in one hour wasn't amazing enough. I thought maybe I should upgrade and now that it's working I can transfer all my files / photos. I was ready to switch from Koodo to Tech Emporium because of his work ethic and knowledge. He compared the deal Koodo was offering me for a new iPhone 13 and the service to what he could currently offer and he told me for this deal I should stay with Koodo he could do better on the service but he couldn't match the price for the exact phone. Seriously Who does that in today's current retail market? I just went from the guy at Mapleview Mall who couldn't have been ruder to someone who talked me out a purchase from him because it wasn't the best deal financially for me?? And he finished with, I really didn't need to upgrade my phone, that because my phone was old the battery wasn't lasting a full day, if I just replaced the battery it would be as good as new. In the end that's what I did and it's a week later and my phone charge lasts all day, I love my tiny phone with all it's memory, photo's and data intact. I promise if you go here you will be amazed at the friendly service, their knowledge, the speed of the repair and there business integrity! I'm so grateful to...
Read moreAfter having my own devices repaired here and recommending their services for years to family and friends I am completely dissapointed with my most recent experience.
Based on my recommendation, my girlfriend brought her Samsung A50 here to have the screen replaced. When she dropped it off she was told she would be contacted when it was ready to be picked up. Three days later she called to enquire and was informed that the phone had been ready but no one decided to call and let her know. She then paid and picked up the phone with the new screen and promptly put it in a case upon arriving home. A few week later my girlfriend, laying in bed, attempts to check the time and the screen is now flashing white and unresponsive, having worked fine shortly before. Upon bringing the phone back in the employee insisted it had been dropped, despite the fact that it was not and there is no damage to the phone that would indicate it had been dropped. Rather then addressing an issue with the screen only a few weeks after it was replaced, the worker insisted it was dropped, even if it was "hard to believe" which it was not. Completely dissapointed and I will be looking elsewhere in the future as its unrealistic to expect someone to replace their screen twice within a few weeks, even with a "discount" when there was no damage done to the phone...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience with Tech Emporium. I attempted to replace the speakers on my MacBook myself, but after reassembling everything, the laptop wouldn’t turn on. I suspected that one of the wires wasn’t fully connected, so I took it to Tech Emporium for diagnostics.
I explained everything, including my suspicion about the loose wire. They told me they would check it out and run diagnostics. A couple of days later, they called me back, claiming that I had shorted the motherboard while replacing the speakers. They also said they don’t handle this type of repair in-house and would need to send it to a specialist, estimating the cost at $400–$500.
Something about their explanation didn’t sit right with me, so I decided to take my MacBook back. They charged me $50 for the diagnostics. Not sure what to do next, I went to the Apple Store at Mapleview to see if I could trade in my MacBook for a new one. When I explained my situation, an Apple technician offered to take a quick look.
Twenty minutes later, they returned with my MacBook powered on and working perfectly. Turns out, one of the wires wasn’t properly connected—just as I had suspected from the start!
Big thanks to the Apple Store at Mapleview for their honesty and expertise. As for Tech Emporium, I won’t...
