HFX Games & Collectibles — Local services in Dartmouth

Guy with the grey hair makes me feel unwelcome as someone new to the Magic community, I'll keep shopping here because they have a good selection of sleeves, sets, and decks. Just wish he wouldn't be so judgemental towards folks who don't regularly attend their game nights.

EDIT: I went to the store again today to grab some of the new Karlov Manor stuff. I couldn't help but feel unwelcome in the store by the same employee. He was friendly with the two customers ahead of me and was very cold to me for some reason. I am now seeing that there are pre release packs that I could have purchased which I wish he could have at least mentioned on the release date of a new set when I previously mentioned I was new to the community. I don't think I will be stopping by when this specific employee is working anymore unfortunately. To be clear, I can't emphasize enough how kind and helpful the other folks at HFXgames are. When I told them I was new they went out of their way to answer any questions and even gave me some booster packs for new players. It's just too bad that I will now have to check who is working before...

EDIT the store reached out to me and explained there was a lapse in communication in regards to me recieving the promos. They mailed them out to me and I recieved them in two days. Thanks for making it right. I've moved my review from 3 stars to 4due to the excellent service I received in solving this problem.

Pricing is on the higher side from other game shops I've been too in the maritimes. I attended an event here in which each participant was advertised to receive two promos for attending the event. I was told that there was a delay and they never recieved the promos. I contacted them a month later to inquire about the promos and still told they never recieved them. Here were are almost 3 months later and still no promos. I've heard of other locations recieving their promos a month ago, so I'm assuming this store just pocketed the promos to sell, disappointing.

The location does have a nice play area that is spacious and well lit and clean just don't believe their advertising when it comes to events...

Stopped in day 1, got a copy of terraforming mars, with all the expansions ... In fact I ended up being customer #1! Great staff, lots of fun, AWESOME location, great amount of space, fantastic atmosphere, heck they even had shop jerseys on!!!

Good friend of mine who was customer #2 went back a week or so later to grab a couple of premade decks, there was a bit of a mix-up, won't get into details, but as soon as he contacted the staff at HFXGames they responded with as much disappointment, if not more than he, they ended up fixing the mix-up immediately, with smiles on thier faces!!!

Super happy to have a store with as much space for activities as they do here, it's almost like they only have bunk beds!!! Excited to have them around, and they've got a long term...
