Pilots Pub — Restaurant in Dartmouth

Clams used to be good, but now are dry, and chewy, the last few trips there anyway. Fish is fresh, but batter is to thick. Specials list almost identical from day to day. Last time me and my lady went, we sat at a table for almost 10minutes with no service. My lady made a trip to the washroom, and I made a couple trips to the specials list at the front entrance, to grab their attention. They never came, so we left and went to johns lunch new diner, not the first time.( Clams are awesome, and you get more then you would at pilots) Although wait staff are polite, it's frequent things are forgotten. Ketchup, drink refills, or the customers. Not very welcoming either. Used to always go here. Called to order wings once. Asked for salt and vinegar wings, but they weren't on the menu. They wouldn't do it, so again, went somewhere else. This has been a funny story ever since. I don't understand though? They must have salt, and I've seen vinegar there. But the gap between the two ingredients, and the wings, must have been to great I guess. The service flaws have pushed us to going to johns, or Cha baa Thai in burnside.

I absolutely love this place but today I had my first bad experience with a new server. My receipt doesn't give a name only says "Server#7" she was a bit snooty and aloud one of our meals to come out of the kitchen sub par. I also normally always tip as I love this place a lot, but no tip for this lady today ! The date on my receipt 05/26/24 4:00pm it says table 101 but we ordered take out from the bar. The club wrap and fries perfect, the chicken fingers n fries perfect 👌 but the haddock tips were a sad sight for eyes given that I have ordered this before and was a good portion.... this time it was so few fries and only like 8 tiny tips of haddock. So I paid $17 + tax for a meal so crabby we gave it to a homeless person on the way home. I'll still visit again but will be sure to check my meals before I leave next time. Whoever "Server#7" is should be checking to see that meals meet the quality I have come to expect from this fine place to dine before they go out to a table or for take out.

I tried to call and ask for a managers name and was hung up on rudely, my mother tried to call and she was spoken to rudely as well. New hires making customers...

We arrived at the pub at supper time, upon entering we over heard people who entered before us explain how rude the staff were. There was no one who greeted us and there was a small sign to say seat yourself. The pub was busy but proceeded to look for a table. The first table were were told by a customer that it was reserved, there was no sign on the table indicating it was reserved, but we moved on to look for another. We walked to the back where we found another table, we were about to sit down when we were rudly told by a staff member it was reserved. I asked how do we tell if a table was available or not. The waitress was very short with me saying "its set isn't it"as if I should know that it was being reserved. I have only been to your establishment a handful of times before and only at lunchtime and never had an issue finding a seat.
