Very disappointed. Came in and got two comfort plates prior to Thanksgiving. The aftertaste in the “meat” was offensive, like sawdust. This was not a meal. It was a huge slab of ground beef alternative- which is where the unpleasant taste came from- with a pile of mashed sweet potatoes on top. The few pieces of vegetable were limo overcooked and tasteless. No gravy, no stuffing. One tiny container of cranberry sauce. To make this an actual meal I had to make two more vegetables and stuffing to try and disguise the unpleasant flavour of the loaf. I paid $50.00 for this when I could have made a better meal without the aftertaste. No wonder vegetarian food puts people off. I am back to dried lit turkey at Xmas. My dog’s thanksgiving dinner was tastier than this.

Honestly this place is a 4.7 The food selection was excellent; the focus is healthy eating with numerous vegetarian and vegan options. (Also quite gluten friendly) I had the lentil mushroom soup and the artichoke quiche. The soup was earthy and light. The quiche's filling was moister than I like and it could have been a bit hotter, but the exquisite flavour of the filling and flakiness of the crust definitely left a great impression. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her rice bowl. We ate our meal in a little plaza next to the bakery and a bookstore; (which is the main eating area for the Garage) the ambiance was perfect for a midday stop on our road trip.

I came across Garage & Café while walking around Duncan, and it turned out to be such a lovely surprise! From the outside, I didn’t expect much, but inside the café was beautiful, lively, and full of tasty looking drinks and food. The staff were also super friendly. I ordered a matcha latte and a few slices of pizza. The latte was made so pretty, not too sweet, and I loved the soft green color while drinking it. The pizza was honestly way better than I expected I would definitely recommend it! Next time, I’m excited to try more items on their menu.

Stopped here a few times during our visit to the island. Great quirky little place that is obviously very popular. On the whole the food we had on all visits was excellent. Really fresh, interesting flavours, and loads of choice that was all pretty decent value for money. However, I was a bit dissapointed by the oatmeal. I'll admit that I am fussy about how I have mime and maybe it's just how you guys have it over here in Canada....but for this reason I specifically asked if it was made with milk...which I was told it was (even though seemed odd that it also then came with a side of a milk of your choice) ...it was 100% made with water and was pretty tasteless and gross. We came in with our 6month old. She puts everything in her mouth and likes to chew the edge of the tables so we've taken to wiping them down first. All the times we came the wipes were pretty grey from wiping the tables, even first thing in the morning. A minor gripe that probably won't really make much of a difference to whether or not you're going to visit here! Unless you too are planning to suck the tables. All in all. Don't eat the tables. Avoid the oatmeal unless you're weird and also like yours made with water. But otherwise stop in for some lovely fresh tasting and...

I previously was a big fan of the Duncan Garage, Cafe and Bakery. However I have heard that they are now not honouring mask exemptions. This is not only discriminatory of people with legitimate reasons for not wearing the useless and potentially harmful masks, it is also irrational. Its furthering a divide in the community because such heavy handed tactics are actually contravening the charter of rights. It is not the job of businesses to police peoples health. Do you serve alcohol? Sugar? do you know the health impacts of those substances far far outweigh this supposed pandemic. The public's best bet is to get natural immunity through exposure. Until we stand up and say no to government over-reach, and their unscientific technocratic totalitarianism, you can be assured that there will be no end to it. Governments will never be satisfied with the freedoms they can take away. Individuals and businesses complying with this, is the most unCanadian thing you can do. If you love democracy, now is the time to say NO! I will boycott the Garage until you stop...

Duncan Garage Café & Bakery is a hidden gem that absolutely deserves a visit. The food here is awesome - every dish is a delightful experience, combining great taste with high-quality ingredients. But it's not just the food that makes this place stand out; the service is equally impressive. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

What really sets this café apart is its unique charm. It's a little cafe that packs a big punch in terms of food quality and ambiance. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a catch-up with friends. And let's not forget the coffees and other hot drinks – they are fantastic! Each cup is crafted with care, making it a great spot for any coffee enthusiast or anyone looking to enjoy a warm, comforting beverage. All in all, Duncan Garage Café & Bakery offers a wonderful combination of delicious food, great service, and a uniquely...
