Mi Casa Market — Local services in Ellerslie

Here’s my honest review of this store. I hope you take it constructively. I’ve been coming here occasionally for the last three years, mainly because it's the only option nearby when other stores are too far away or closed. However, I would much prefer to go to another store because:

1. The customer service is terrible. The cashier shows no interest in the customers. They don’t ask anything—there’s no "thank you," no "please," nothing. They scan your items and take your payment without any interaction. The young guy at the counter didn’t even look at me; when I was paying, he just continued watching the TV on the wall.

One time, a young lady helped me, and for the first time, she smiled and said thank you!

I still don’t understand why you haven’t realized your sales aren’t as high as they could be. You are the only Latin store in the South area, yet I would rather drive an extra 10 minutes to reach another store than receive such poor customer service. 2)Prices are almost 1 or 2 dollars more than the other stores Like I said, I hope you take this review in a...

Weird, the first time I came I got great service. The fresh food was really good too. This time I also got good service as I came in, but when I stood by the counter to pay, the cashier was more interested in finding their ringing iPad than helping me, so I waited. 20 seconds later a second person came out, but he was more interested in talking to the first person. I have shopped here over a few years. It is nice to be able to find items not in larger stores. It is a little pricey but I suspect because they are a smaller store they cannot get things cheaper. Products have always been good quality. The only thing I have never seen is Masa for tamales, not the dry powder stuff. Down South we can buy a wet masa in the baggie. I have not seen here. Tamales came out good but I like the other Masa better. Maybe I will make from the recipe on the bag and see how they come out and use oil instead of manteca. The staff have...
