I went there because my daughter starts advanced drawing lessons. I just gave the list with all the materials needed to this sweet very kind young man name Olivier and he found everything for us fast and even proposed alternatives. I was impressed and trully thankful because there was no way I would have found everything so fast by myself. I paid, they gave us a 10% discount on my daughter's name too and with this card next time we go we use it again to get a discount. I am definitely going back there to buy materials for my daughter because the service is excellent and fast!! I was done in less than 20 minutes. The place is very organized and what I noticed is that Olivier knows the materials really well and in what phase the teacher will ask them to use them as well so he explains a lot of stuff. I have been to MANY Omer Deserres throughout my education in fine arts though this was my first experience that lefte feeling absolutely livid. Not one person spoke English and normally as an Anglophone I don't mind the language barrier but after being asked if I needed help by two female employees who both looked at me like I had 12 heads when asking if they sold grout for my ceramic tiling project, I was livid. Very rude staff, slow and offering the illusion of wanting to be helpful but clearly just trying to look busy. For starters the staff was excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable. The store however looked like it had been ransacked, let me explain... if you have just emerged from under the rock you have been living under for the past 9 months, we are currently in a global pandemic. Stores are lacking in many things due to global shortages. It is clearly visible in art stores and this art store as well as people try to find their Niche and open their creative side with all the spare time they have.
