We came to celebrate my birthday but it looked like we chose a bad night.
Empty of clients, service a bit hurried, food mediocre. I ordered the same dish as before and it was exceptionally greasy and difficult to digest this time. It tasted and smelled reheated. My table partners salmon dish smelled too fishy. The pizza sauce was too acid and burned the lips. We come here to get something else other than Hunts Tomato Paste or salmon defrosted in rose sauce. We come here for FRESH. Even the one chive sprig garnish had no flavour! We got rushed service eventhough it was empty. They forgot to serve us the coffee or tea included with our menu but we let it go as it was late. Last time the tiramisu dessert was delicious and so was the rest of the menu. This time the lemon cake slither could've been a slice from a SuperC cake. Nothing special. Leftovers essentially. The dessert canneloni was not sweet enough and needed something like chocolate syrup on top. A fresh apple would've been sweeter. The purpose of a sweet dessert is to stimulate digestion at the end of a heavy meal. The only dish we enjoyed was the breaded cheese appetizer with the bread buns. The bill was $150 for 3.
I dont think we'll hurry back here...
Read moreCame here for lunch and ordered their cannelloni plate. I..... LOVE.... CANNELLONI!
My plate consisted of 3 thin cannelloni's and I left feeling I could have eaten more.
I found the price-tag expensive and I feel they're far more suited for dinner situations where you can wine & dine with family & friends or a date. The place is pretty with ideal decoration to make it look European without screaming : "I'M ITALIAN!!!!" in your face.
Music was a little loud but perhaps it was due to the fact there was only 6-7 patrons during rush hour.
This brings me back to my previous point where I didn't find value in my meal, I feel it should have been a table d'hôte with a salad with coffee & dessert. With this in place and time, you can draw far more than half a dozen people during lunch-time. The food was quite good and as an Italian I can attest this however people value their meal and paying $20+ for a small plate of pasta is asking too much of them.
At this rate just open for dinner.
Service was fast but not necessarily very friendly.
In conclusion, good food but the plate is economic. Price-tag is too high.
3.5 stars...
Read moreThe interior design made the place feel fancy but also cozy at the same time. There was a waiter that would play some live music from time to time which was nice but it depends on if you like that addition or not. The food was a bit expensive, 45$ for the table d'hote that comes with an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. I really enjoyed both the appetizer and the dessert. Their shredded crab appetizer had a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. Their tiramisu was fluffy and full of flavours which was also amazing. I felt like the main course though was lacking a bit in flavours and the veal was too thin of slices, it wasn't as enjoyable as the rest of the food. The service was superb. All the waiters had a great humour, were smiling and patient. They served us with a lot of respect and were also really flexible on changes made in their course meals. The main problem in my opinion is the wait time between the appetizer and the main course. We probably had to wait close to 45 minutes before the main...
