I recently decided to stop by this Dairy Queen location and I had a terrible experience with one of the employees they were extremely rude and very unprofessional. My mother and I went for a walk with our dogs to our local Dairy Queen, my mom went inside to place our order and while I was waiting in front of the store on the grass with my 2 dogs, one of the employees left the building through the side door going through the parking lot to take out the garbage bin while she left the store she clearly saw me waiting in front of the store with my dogs. After a couple of mins, my mom came outside with 1 medium misty freeze lemon lime, 1 medium strawberry sundae and 1 small regular sundae as my mom was placing our items in the stroller, the employee that was throwing the garbage instead of going back the way she came when she went to go throw the garbage she went the long way in our direction and we were focusing on putting all the ice cream in the stroller so it doesn’t fall and the employee was walking but then as she got closer she started to run behind us with the garbage bin and the loud sound startled us and one of my dogs barked because he got spooked by the loud sound, in the process of all that happening everything we bought fell on the floor and we were disappointed because it went to waste. After the employee went back into the building my mom went back to see if they could replace the items due to the incident and the lady that was throwing out the garbage was rude to my mom by saying it was her fault and not her problem but she finally decided to replace our items but unfortunately when she did for the medium misty freeze she gave her a small misty slush instead and for the 2 sundaes one of them was supposed to be a medium but she gave us both a small and the size portion for the strawberry was half the size of the one she got previously and they were barely any strawberries even though she paid extra and finally the small regular sundae she filled it up 1 inch right before the cup design curves. Once my mom came out I could tell they got my drink wrong and the portion for my mom's sundae wasn’t even comparable to the one they gave her before but what got me upset was the regular sundae we bought it for our dogs because they love it as a treat and they barley put anything in the cup. I decided to go back in and ask politely initially if they can fill it up a little bit more and the initial lady that threw out the garbage came from the back and right off the bat she was rude with a lot of attitude saying it was not her problem and we should be grateful that she even gave us anything since it was our fault, while she was saying this I believe the other lady there was the manager and she was telling her colleague to just fill up the cup and she took the cup and quite literally just put a pinch of ice cream and I honestly was shocked by such behaviour and I told her that’s ridiculous you can fill it up more and even the manager said to fill it up more then that and she proceeds to do the exact same thing only putting a pinch, at that point I just took the cup and left. This is the worst Dairy Queen location I have ever been to even though it’s the closet to me I rather go to any other location or even Baskin and Robbins they have 1000% better...
Read moreOrdered a cake online early this afternoon for 615 pick up. Went in at 620 to pick up. Had a confirmation email and a receipt email. Showed the employee and she asked when I wanted to pick up? I said now. She asked if I put that in the order? I said yes. She said let me go check. Came back a minute later and asked if I ordered on the app. I said no I ordered on your website. She went got another employee. I showed her the emails as well. They went to "go check" and then came back and asked again if I ordered on the app. I said no I used your website, on a desktop computer at work. They left again. Then came back to ask my name, and then left again. Then came back again and asked for the order number. Then came back again to take a picture of my confirmation email. Then a third employee came and asked my name. After about 12 minutes of this, they found my cake. I asked if they could write Happy Birthday on the cake. The first employee asked what colour I wanted and I said blue. She said ok and took the cake to the back. When she brought it back, she showed me and asked if it was ok. I said no, that's red, you asked me what colour I wanted and I said blue. She stared at me blankly. I repeated "you asked me what colour, and I said blue. This is not blue this is red." She smiled and said oh my mistake. Then she started to take it back and said to the second or third employee in another language (which I also speak) that she said to write it in blue but I didn't hear her and did it in red. This employee says I can try and takes the cake to the back. Ten minutes later, they return with my cake, which now has smudged red spots all over it and the writing in blue. I ordered the cake in advance to save time but still spent thirty minutes waiting for them to find my order and then haphazardly correct their error. They were apologetic for the error in colour, so I appreciate that. Overall though, I would rather have taken my chances of just showing up to buy the cake instead of ordering and paying in advance just to spend an inordinate amount of time standing around...

But….. the service when I walked in one of the workers were sitting down. No problem, but my nephew got in before me cause i was holding the door for other patrons.
So by time i get in ….. the two workers are speaking in their mother tongue staring at my 6 year old nephew laughing. Ohhhh okay….. weirdos……
I ignore cause now i just wanna get in and out. I give the lady the order. And because I decided not to bother with the extra almost $1.50 or such peanuts to add on the sundae, I get this ugly looking sad limp sundae with literally the Carmel dripping at the side.
Usually dairy queen has their signature ice cream curl thing at the top. Nothing…. Lol
It’s one thing if the store is franchised but my god if you decide to franchise an establishment would you at least try to run the business with some standards?!
Lovely to tell people I own an ice cream shop …. But Dairy Queen has been around for decades. And just because you have money to purchase a franchise doesn’t give you the right to just give ppl whatever.
Even the taste of the ice cream base is not the typical taste of dairy queen
Could have went to McDonald’s and spent half the price and felt much better.
And please don’t even bother to respond with the lame automated response that your franchise owner / manager likes to do when responding to PAYING customers who have a concern.
I usually don’t write reviews immediately after but im literally sitting in my car facing Tomken rd writing this ridiculous review. I am a very busy person but I really really really didn’t feel right driving off without writing this review. Will never recommend this location nor will I ever be back.
And EVEN IF the franchise owner says, “ Oh well! who cares! This is my ice cream shop!” I care enough to let the world know the service is trash and DQ hasn’t been the same. At least others will see...
