Sage Eyecare (formerly Dr. M. Chiu, Dr. K. Fong and Associates of Square One and Sherway Gardens) — Local services in Mississauga

My wife and I were looking for an optometrist and stumbled on Sage Eyecare. Based off the reviews on google, we decided to give them a try. The front area team was polite, professional and very down to earth. The facility was very clean, modern and the bathroom was up to standard. (You can always tell how a place is based on the care of their bathroom. Nice soap, plug in fragrance, and overall clean!) We both proceeded with the comprehensive eye exam which includes the updated check of your prescription, a check of the overall health of your eyes and the 3D retinal imaging of the back of your eyes. HIGHLY recommend as it gives you an overall view of your eyes. Dr. Chiu was very knowledgable, friendly and informative. She explained things very thoroughly and the front area team was kind enough to stay even after they closed to help process the glasses we purchased from them. Overall, very happy with the experience and have even recommended my parents to go there in the future! One additional thing to note: with the crazy heat wave we’ve been getting, they also offered some refreshments which is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. They are considerate enough to know that customers are there for quite some time. (We were there for over 2 hours because of the exam plus looking for glasses, fitting etc) Yes it’s an additional expense for them but it just put their customer service to the next level! So upset! Drove an hour to an appointment they booked me for trial contact lenses and then was told that I would be charged $110 for a fitting! Simply said, the trial contacts the Dr gave me previously were not the right prescription and I was having issues with the vision, explained this to them on the phone prior and the receptionist said she would book me in to get the correct lens prescription, nothing was mentioned about fees. So when I arrived to the appointment another receptionist tells me that I would be charged for another trial which is what they refer to as a contact fitting. Keep in mind that I know all the other optical places don’t charge you for trial contacts as they all have different fits and are not all the same. I complained that they should’ve informed me about that before I drove over an hour there to be disappointed. Since they’ve moved here from Sherway, I’ve noticed that they always have charges for something, was told if I wanted my contact lens prescription I would also be charged a fee! These fees are ridiculous and petty! My family and I will not be returning here and will definitely not recommend! Best to go somewhere else where they take care of your needs without trying to...

Great Service!! From the very first phone call booking two appointments, the service was super friendly and polite from their front desk staff. To the point that when I attended in person, I mentioned it to them.

Quite often I find receptionists in a medical profession, to be quite unprofessional and rude at times. It’s quite refreshing and appreciative to have the opposite experience.

In terms of the office itself, it was modern, clean, bright and welcoming. Not to mention there was plenty of parking which also helps.

The eye exam was standard. My daughter and I were seen by Dr Aponso. She was lovely! She didn’t make you feel rushed, she was thorough and explained things in great detail.

Overall my daughter and I felt this was our best experience and eye exam by any Dr and clinic ever. In fact my Daughter mentioned it, the moment we left.

Oh and bonus points to their front desk staff who walked around with a tray of beverages afterwards, offering everyone drinks in the waiting area!

Sage Eyecare… We are so glad we found you!! Thank you for such a wonderful experience, we most certainly will be back! Probably sooner than later, as my daughter found a pair of glasses she liked there on...
