After the great reviews on Yelp I was anxious to try this place out. I really liked the modern decor and when we arrived, and the restaurant had like 3 tables occupied. We were given a table immediately and I noticed that there was only one server around. The server filled our glasses of water, gave us the menu and then walked off. The prices were average. I was a bit disappointed that the sets that seemed the most appealing to me (e.g., the torched sushi) were pretty pricey. I settled for the Omigoto special combo, which consisted of 6 nigiri sushi, half a dynamite roll and half a spicy tuna roll. My brother decided to get the Vege maki set. I am not a fan of tempura on my sushi so I asked the server to leave out the tempura from mine. We waited for around 20 minutes, during which our water wasn't replaced, we weren't asked if we needed anything else, and we weren't given any appetizer salads or miso soups, which I noticed every other table received. Our food finally arrived and surprise surprise...my roll was filled with tempura. I immediately called it out and the server just seemed stubborn and seemed reluctant to take it back. When he did, in less than 1 minute he came back with my plate. I noticed that the chef literally replaced the dynamite roll with a California roll. If I wanted a California roll I would have ordered that in the first place. Instead of complaining and making the server even more frustrated than he already was I decided to ignore it. I also noticed that the spicy tuna roll had tempura in it too! While eating we asked the server if he could bring us extra ginger, which he brought once we had completed our meal. I get that he was the only server around, but the restaurant wasn't even that busy. While paying, the server gave a newly arrived couple some salad and also gave them advice as to how to get a better deal in their orders, which was not given to us. The quality of the sushi was okay, not the best. But the main thing that ruined my experience was not the food but the service. I will go again to give it another shot and hopefully receive service that is favourable to everyone.
UPDATE: The first time I tried this restaurant I wasn't impressed at all. But now that I gave it another shot a couple of months later I think it is one of the best sushi restaurants in Mississauga. They gladly make accommodations to dietary preferences, unlike many other sushi establishments within Mississauga, the service is always friendly and efficient, and the food does not take long to arrive at all- actually it usually takes 5 minutes for them to serve the food! What makes them my go-to within this region is that they have the torched maki, which I love! This place is always busy for a reason and I am glad they have made great improvements since my...
Read moreOMFG I love this place! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Sushi Omigoto by chance and we are so glad that we did! The ambiance, service and the food went far beyond our expectations - and we’ve been to plenty of sushi restaurants. Sushi is my absolute favourite food and I’m sooo happy to say Sushi Omigoto is my fav sushi restaurant!
If you’ve been to a la Carte sushi restaurants downtown or north York - the atmosphere is very similar in terms of that “high end” dark decor. The menu is just as plentiful (Japanese and Korean items!) and unique but the major difference I noticed between Sushi Omigoto and all the other higher end restaurants is that Sushi Omigoto is soo much more affordable. Personally I think the quality at Sushi Omigoto beats all the other restaurants I’ve tried. High quality at a fair price - you definitely can’t go wrong. I brought my best friend and her boyfriend on my recent visit (after my constant raving about this place lol) and even they agreed that Sushi Omigoto is so much better than those higher end and pricey a la Carte places. And that’s saying a lot because they eat out allll the time.
I’ve been here 3 times so far in the last 2 weeks (LOL), and my absolute favourite roll is the Salmon Love roll and Chefs Valcano Roll. It’s so fresh and tender and omg I’m craving just writing this already LOL Both rolls are spicy but the valcano you have the option to pick between mild, medium and spicy. I went with spicy and it was an edible level of spicy - thank god LOL all the other items I’ve tried are also very good too. I believe I also ordered their sashimi platter, red green dragon roll, lobster tail roll and gyoza. Everything tasted amazing but my two favs are so unique compared to other restaurants I’ve been too!
Service is also outstanding. From our first visit to our recent, we’ve always felt taken care of. Shout to Jessica & Jenn!! They’re so adorable and sweet :) it’s not your typical restaurant experience where servers aren’t giving you enough attention ... or too much. When they do check up on you or talk to you it doesn’t seem like they’re doing it because it’s their job! They’re very genuine which is a big plus! You don’t get that often from servers at restaurant.
I definitely will and do recommend Sushi Omigoto to everyone I know!! You already know I’m ready to go...
Read moreI came here for a full dine-in experience and ordered a range of items — sashimi platters, rolls, and hot appetizers. The fish was fresh and well-presented, with generous cuts and bright color. The sashimi platter stood out with a great variety (salmon, tuna, yellowtail, crab stick, etc.), all served chilled and beautifully plated. Even the fried items like the onion rings were crisp, not greasy, and came out hot. Portions are bigger than what you normally get at other AYCE spots.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and fast. Dishes came out quickly and the servers regularly checked in to refill drinks or clear plates without hovering. They explained the menu clearly and even made suggestions for first-timers. My water glass was never empty and the bill came promptly.
Inside it’s clean and welcoming, with plenty of seating and a casual but vibrant vibe. The booths are comfortable and the lighting isn’t harsh, which makes it nice for photos. It feels family-friendly but also good for a casual date night. There’s background music at just the right level so you can still have a conversation.
Sushi Omigoto really surprised me. It’s rare to find a spot that balances price, quality, and service so well. The presentation is Instagram-worthy but the food backs it up. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a solid sushi night out without...
