Unbelievably rude and aggressive. I was cashing out and a woman, presumably the one in so many other bad reviews, swept by and snatched the basket the cashier had just taken my groceries out of and said "bloody Americans!", took the basket and slammed it down in the stack by the doorway. It was really unbelievable, since it had been moments since the basket had been emptied of purchases and I hadn't yet paid- there was not even a period in which I could have yet possibly returned the basket to the stack. Photo attached, since as I scroll looking at previous reviews, it seems to be their recurring tactic to question whether reviewers actually did go into their shop at all. Will never return again and suggest keeping less personable assets in the back of house where their poor social skills are best suited.

This is a favourite stop after each visit we make to a nearby dentist. There's a nice selection of traditional German food ready to eat or to take home (rolladen, streusel Kuchen, fresh green salad mixes...) and prepare as well as a good butcher and baker section. There are different specials on different days. not everything we've tried over the years has been a success but their fresh pretzels are a must. The sausages, particularly the frankfurters are great and we always get a bottle or two of the Lowensenf mustard which is hard to find anywhere else. There are plenty of good chocolates, coffees, and other treats to choose from.

This is the type of market where a jovial man will tell you all about how the cherries by the register are excellent. If you go doing the day, it is filled with older ladies who are generally in a good humour. Overall, a pleasant place to buy some liverwurst. They have a variety of other European items, not just German stuff, like the Polish linden tea I took a picture of. I wish I lived in the area so I could come more often and have ongoing chats with the nice staff—it’s the kind of place that makes you feel nostalgic even if you have never experienced such an environment before.

Elle a répondu : «not yet!». J’ai dit : «Pardon?» Elle m’a dit, un peu hargneuse : «Come back tomorrow».

Alors, ma décision est prise. I will never come back…

Regarding the review of Anya Lester with her baby, obviously they do not have a baby shopping cart, have you seen the size of the store?! It's a small intimate family run boutique not a big Walmart. It is also very hard to believe that the boss told you they dont want children in the store??? They love having children and babies in their store, it is also a three generation run business, the bosses grandchildren since they were little spend time helping out in the store so I really doubt that he said that to you. Every time a family comes in with their children, I have whitnesss them giving treats and attention to the kids, they love it. This entire family workes together and gives in their best efforts to keeep up with big corporations, being in business for over 50 years they must be doing something right?! They care about the products they sell since they worked hard in producing them. If ever someone does go home with spoiled food, I'm sure there would be no problem if you brought it back and explained the issue. I see this family has honest and down to earth. Love going there the food...

I’ve gone there for a number of years, and they tend to be a bit high-brow. 2 weeks ago I purchased the last 2 vanilla beans. When I tried to use them the bean was dedicated, so dry I couldn’t even cut it in half. I tried to use it by simmering in milk—to no avail.

The expiration date was April 2020. When I went back asking for a refund or my money back, the owner (I had asked to speak to the owner and he identified himself as such) told me did you soak it. I said I’d never soaked a bean before but that it was simply dedicated.

His response was that he would show it to the manufacturers’ rep. No refund; it’s as if he was blaming me. And that’s the meaning behind my feeling that they are rather dismissive of their clients. So now I’m have to wait who knows how long for $16.00. And I also told him that it was the last on the shelf...when I to,d hi the expiration date was waning he told me that it was still good until 04/2020, and I had to remind him that that was only three months away, and that this was most likely the reason the beans were dried...
