Tl;Dr: They are selling products in the pet department (and probably elsewhere) that have been tampered with, and when brought to their attention, they reshelved the tampered with products and were annoyed that I felt it was a concern. If you shop here, make damn sure all safety seals are intact because if this one item is unsafe (and it was- my dog became violently ill) it's not unreasonable to assume that other items are as well.
I noticed a number of bottles of a pet product, Perkin Dental Food Spray, that I regularly purchase for my pets- a dental food spray- had clearly been tampered with on the shelf. The product is sold wrapped in a clear plastic cellophane and the liquid is clear normally.. These bottles had a yellow liquid in them, no cellophane, and the levels of the liquid were very clearly inconsistent. Once before, I had one time before bought a bottle that looked like this and assumed that it was maybe a new formula or something. My dog vomited a number of times and I threw it away. It never occurred to me that it could have been deliberate until I saw both types of bottle sitting side by side. It was obvious that they had been tampered with as there were a couple bottles that were as they should be. Concerned, I collected the bottles that had been tampered with as well as one of the regular ones for comparison and brought it first to the pharmacy located close to the pet section. The pharmacist shared my concern and directed me to bring them to customer service. When I was going there, I was stopped by two employees at a register who looked to be tagging items for restock. They refused to let me bring them to customer service, and demanded that I give them to them. Something told me that these two women were not going to properly dispose of the tampered with product, so I said specifically that they should not go back on the shelf. They assured me, and I left it with them. Four days later, I had reason to be in the store again, and low and behold, what should be back on the shelf but those same tampered with items less two that had probably been sold. This time, I did go to Customer Service, and I asked to speak with the manager on duty. This request was refused. The employee was clearly annoyed with me and made me go back to aisle I found them to get a normal bottle for comparison purposes. I did. When I came back, she didn't even look at the bottle, and said that she would scratch out the barcode so they couldn't be sold, and then turned away from me and refused to acknowledge me despite my clearly having a follow up question. I will be contacting the Walmart Canada corporate office as well as Petkin directly because this is dangerous, and their apathy is going to get someone hurt or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this Walmart less than a one star rating, I would. Yes, this is a large Walmart that holds many items and that includes fresh product. Just because itās a large Walmart, it does not mean itās products and the employees are anything of quality.
To begin with products, the fresh food become wilted by the next morning and forces you to cook it the same day as purchase or it goes bad. Bakery products grow mold within 72 hours of purchase, it not immediately frozen after purchasing.
Now time to talk about employees. To state the Walmart employees at the Lasalle location are āhood and thugsā is an understatement. I hope employees at customer service get a nice bonus for all the items the refuse to take back, because the sisters there surely needs to get a new hair weave because those tracks were showing and it was not pretty. They also hire incompetent employees that donāt even know what Drano is. When I asked where it was located, due to the pandemic everything was not in its right spots, the employee said that product does not exist and the store didnāt carry it. I than pulled up the Walmart website on my phone to prove to her that it was a real product and the store does in fact carry it, she asked other coworker who equally had no clue.
Customer service number. Yes, the number is on the back of receipt but god forbid you call them about an in-store related issue. No no no, the customer service 1-800 number is solely for online orders. Please someone answer me this, why advertise the 1-800 service number on the receipt and in-store if they donāt do anything about your issue? Again, this is a reflection of the poor educated employees they hire because they will hire anyone and everyone, thugs included.
Moving to the online pickup, an extremely convenient system that requires no contact during a global pandemic. Wrong. You ask for one bunch of bananas, they only give you one banana total. I have placed orders where I was missing half my items.
Needless to say, I have completely boycotted this poor corporate conglomerate that does not care about the customers who shop there. The poor quality and service, it is not worth your time and money to go there. I may shop at Walmart again one day, but I will never in my life, shop at this location again. I will go out of my way to shop other store and even if it is a complete inconvenience to my life, I refuse to shop at such a disgusting establishment.
Take my warnings,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO HOLD YOUR MONEY FOR MULTIPLE DAYS WITHOUT DELIVERING ANYTHING!!! Check all the other reviews here saying the SAME THING!
Also, they consistently deliver many hours past the delivery window, and bring spoiled food, incorrect items, plus forget things completely, then lead you on a wild goose chase trying to get a refund, only to BAN your account if it happens too often despite it being THEIR fault. (I am on my THIRD account!!!) This store is both understaffed and completely mismanaged, DONāT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
My review: I made a grocery order online to be delivered at 3pm yesterday. After 5pm it updated to show that my order has been delayed to 4pm. Never was delivered! Online displayed "In progress" & "Sorry! Your grocery order is delayed."
Today I started a chat on the site and was told that it was in fact cancelled, and in order to get a refund I needed to call customer service. Already this process was pissing me off, why do I need to call to get a refund for my order that was cancelled by the store? That makes no sense. I do call and am then told that I would be contacted WITHIN 72 HOURS. I would not get my refund for potentially 3 days or more. So now I am out over $500 and have no food. In tears I explain over the phone that I now have NO FOOD. I was told "Don't worry," repeatedly. Don't worry? I now have no money and no food for the next 3 days. They could not even do me the courtesy of offering a gift card to compensate me for THEIR disorganization and what has become a huge waste of MY time. Even when I do get my money back, the flyer will have changed, so I will have to do my entire grocery order over again.
Completely and utterly disgusted... after this experience I will not ever be using Walmart again and I will be warning others as well. I was understanding in the past about mistakes made in picking and delivering my order, the delivery being late, the refund process for delivered items being less than stellar, but no more. I am completely done. I'm just fortunate that I do not have children who would now be starving because of this. DISGUSTING!
I have never had any of these issues with IGA and will be going back to using them instead. Not like it is affordable anymore anyways, my usual order has gone from around $450 to almost $600 for the same things. Price of ground turkey almost...
