Positive: Lots of stock. Especially if you like Funkos. Friendly staff. Very talkative. Negative: Nothing priced. Had to ask the guy working. And he had to check the price each time. After the first two items, I was done asking. It was too much effort than looking at a price sticker and it made me feel like I was wanting to pursue a sale with the clerk. Prices were high. Where he had to check I am assuming he is going online to check. He had a phone on a lanyard around his neck. Things will not move easily that way. I am an experienced buyer of games so I know the approximate value going in and the prices were what is seen on eBay or Amazon. The prices were very highly inflated which lost my sale quickly. Even though there were items I was actively looking for. The counter was incredibly cluttered as was behind the store. I don't even remember seeing the cash register or if they used internet payment (see 2 as to why I did not buy). The Funkos were all spread out on tables and along the walls. No indication if they were rare or not (I know once again the approximately value and the ones I had checked were overpriced and since I am not a collector I am not wasting my money even as a gift). What was that smell in there? It was awful. Like cat urine everywhere. It was overpowering. After about 10 minutes, it was bearable but still it could not be healthy with that awful stench. Another reason I was worried about buying as I was concerned I would bring a hint of the odor with me. If there is an issue, the landlord should have put up a notice on the door as it could have been dangerous to those with breathing problems. (I purposefully kept this to last out of consideration as most will never read this far and hopefully the odor issue has...
Read moreFirst time in over the weekend. I was excited to find a new game shop but disappointed after leaving. First of all NOTHING was priced in the entire store. Who wants to take every item to the employee to get a price? I don’t. Second of all the one item I did ask for a price for took the guy 15 minutes to get me an answer. For a pokeball tin. Anything Pokémon you would think would have a price that he would know right away given it’s current popularity. But I didn’t get a price until he asked me “so are you a collector or just prospecting the market?......” I took this as basically asking if I was a collector or a scalper. After I told him I was a collector he gave me a price of over 3 times retail value.
Now I don’t mind paying a premium at a game store for Pokémon items so I can support a local shop. But 60$ plus tax for an item that should be 20$ is a little much. I totally get that these small shops have had their cost of acquisition increased and therefore have to up their prices but I feel they can still at least price and item and not change the price depending on who is buying and wether the guy deems them a “collector” or not.
I do not recommend this...
Read moreWent into the store and noticed right away the front entrance between the doors to outside and the store was very dirty. When I got in the store there was an awful smell. As I continued through the store I noticed that the rest of the store was very dirty. There was a coffee station set up down one of the aisles that hand grinds and what looked like fresh stains all over the table that the coffee machine was on. The very back of the store is nothing but a bunch of piles of boxes thrown on top of each other looks very disorganized. This is likely the dirtiest store I have ever been in, does not look like it has ever been cleaned. I also noticed when I was in that the person behind the counter was barefoot walking on a floor that was full of stains. Looking through items I noticed nothing was priced and you had to ask the person working all the time what the price of something was. That seemed like a complete waste of time and rather annoying. This probably the worst store of its kind I have ever seen, not something I would want to give my business to. My suggestion is stay far away and shop at store that looks like it values...
