Overall, it was a good experience, and I enjoyed the food at Cora Breakfast and Lunch. We went on a Saturday morning, and I expected to have a wait. We called ahead, but they did not take reservations, and we had a group of five people, including a small baby. I have mobility issues, so waiting in line is not ideal. Luckily, there was no wait line, so we were seated fairly quickly. However, because we were a group of five and the baby's car seat could not be on the floor, they did have to rearrange tables. If we had one more person, we could have been seated in another area that would have accommodated our needs perfectly, and we were too big a group to sit at the standard four person table. We didn't mind waiting for this, and the service staff were friendly throughout. Our server was very kind, attentive to our needs, knowledgeable about the menu, and timely. The restaurant was reasonable at the noise level, and we were able to talk to one another and easily hear each other. Our food wait time was also reasonable, and the food was served hot. Their menu offers gluten-free and reasonably priced add ons. The average cost is about $15 to $17 per main course, not including beverages or extra items. There is a variety of breakfast items to choose from, ranging from several types of Eggs Benedict dishes, crepes, waffles, pancakes, and your typical eggs, bacon, hashbrown type breakfast selections. For the person wanting something more like fruit, yogurt, and smoothies, they have a good selection for you. The hashbrowns are not your typical McCain deep-fried potatoes but more of a baked potato type hashbrown. I had my first "bowl" of latte, which is a super large cup of latte that I wasn't able to drink in its entirety. Next time, I will go with just a regular size. The meal was nourishing, and all I ate because it was so filling. Overall, our group was very satisfied with our experience at this restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their selections, which are in the photos below. Parking is free in a shared parking lot. The parking lot is busy. The washrooms were clean. The restaurant is accessible for those with mobility issues and located in a one level strip mall. I will...
Read moreMy husband and I used to go to Cora’s about every 2 to 3 weeks. Mostly started during Covid where it was just nice to get out of the house. The food and service was always great as were the staff. We haven’t been going as often but decided we would today. I ordered the 10 star skillet which was always my go to. Most of the hash browns were burnt and hard, I started taking out those ones and putting on a separate plate. Some were eaten as they were covered in veggies and cheese and of course, not wanting to spit the food out. I was surprised at how this skillet was presented and thought the meal wasn’t worth the $18.85 cost and that a discount was fair. Showing the burnt hash browns plus leaving the others on the main plate to the waitress and to the owner/manager. She refused a discount as the owner thought there weren’t enough burnt so what % does a meal have to be burnt to warrant a discount? I believe that there is a new owner as I haven’t seen her there before and some of the wait staff (related to the previous owner) wasn’t present either. She offered a $5 coupon after a back and forth discussion but it won’t be used by us. I could be wrong on the change of ownership but the food quality is...
Read moreToday I had a displeasing experience the Cora’s in New Minas. I have been a frequent patron of this location for over 15 years and this has been a special place for my family and I. Hoping to enjoy a coffee from a quality source, I brought one with me to the restaurant.
The kind staff politely let me know it was against company policy to bring it in the the restaurant “because it’s not their’s.”
Though I can respect this, I find it outrageously disrespectful to heckle long stand patrons who have waved the flag of your business for years over a single dollar of profit.
Maybe the business is failing, or blanket corporate policy. Perhaps it’s insecurity or they just like to say **k *you to their clients from time to time. We may never know.
Regardless, the staff and food was great as usual and the staff still got tipped.
If you are concerned of a local coffee shop cup cramping your marketing style in your restaurant with less than 10 people for an hour. Perhaps this glooming review will speak for itself.
As seen in the photo I was awarded the privilege of dining in the restaurant, if I poured existing coffee into their own marketed...
