To start with, I would love to give negative rating.
Worst Experience Ever - Discrimination and Incompetence at Best Buy Belleville
My recent visit to the Best Buy in Belleville, ON, was an absolute nightmare. The service was beyond appalling, and the staff's behaviour was discriminatory, lazy, and downright rude.
On the 30th of Dec 2024, we drove two hours to this store specifically to purchase a phone that was available only at this location. We had a gift card, which all other Best Buy stores assured us could be used toward the down payment. Our plan was to put the phone on financing, but the staff immediately denied us, claiming it wasnât possible with our provider. This was blatantly false, as our provider confirmed over the phone that Best Buy could process the financing.
The staff, particularly the person at the mobile section, didnât even attempt to help. They were dismissive, arrogant, and unwilling to put in even a minimal effort. When we suggested calling the providerâsomething Best Buy is fully capable of doing as a dealerâthey flat-out refused, making it clear they had no intention of trying.
The floor team lead, William, was no better. His condescending attitude and sheer arrogance were shocking. He not only failed to resolve the issue but also spoke to us with a clear lack of respect. Same with the other guy who was cutting us off repeatedly and refusing to listen who outright denied to check if financing was possible.
What made this experience even worse was the consistent behaviour across the board. It wasnât just one or two employees with terrible attitudesâthe entire store seemed to exude the same unprofessional and dismissive energy. Every interaction we had felt like a battle against indifference and laziness.
This experience left us feeling humiliated, angry, and completely disrespected. Despite having clear confirmation from our provider, the staff refused to make any effort to accommodate us. Driving two hours to encounter such blatant disregard and discrimination was infuriating.
If youâre looking for assistance, professionalism, or even basic human decency, avoid the Belleville Best Buy at all costs. Iâll be warning everyone I know to steer clear of this disgraceful...
Read moreWent in Saturday around noon to get a refund on 1 broken item and then buy a laptop for my granddaughter and got no help from customer service. There were 2 girls texting on their phone and when I asked for help one of them said they were going on break and the other girl would help me out. The one girl was playing catch with a balloon. Yup, a balloon. The other girl walked to another till 3 feet away and rang 2 customers in. A tad angry, after a couple minutes she says to me that she will call a sales person to help me find a computer. I had the model number from their website and asked her if possible just have someone bring it up and I'll pay. I asked her about a refund for my other item and she says I have to go pick out my computer and then she will refund my other item. Now it's been 5 minutes I have no computer, no refund, and I'm no further ahead. She picks up her phone and I can see her texting someone and after a few more minutes wasted one sketchy looking male employee with pink hair and earrings comes up to me and says he can help. I asked him if the computer I asked customer service for earlier was in stock and he rudely replied he doesn't know anything about it. I told him I had the model number and he said that wasn't any help and I needed to know what brand and what price it was and he could look it up. Umm hello, thats why I wrote down the model number. As I asked him about it he litterally walked up to the front door of the store and just started saying hi to customers. I was dumbfounded that he just left me standing there. I returned my item, bought some batteries which I will never buy again and the same cashier that was no help said to me to fill out a survey on the bottom of the receipt saying I had a good experience. The way these young employees looked and acted make it clear there is no management present and no personal or social skills taught here. It looks as though they hire a bunch of high school kids for cheap labour. Won't...
Read moreExtremely poor customer service. Two days ago I went to make a purchase that I had first viewed online. I was less than a two minute drive to the store. as I waited 15 minutes in a line at a counter two different people wearing Best Buy shirts made eye contact but then walked away from me. when I was finally helped the associate looked at his computer for what I had asked for and said "out of stock" and quickly dismissed me without giving me any other options or asking any other questions to see if something else might work for me . That was fine I visited another business and made a large purchase. Today I needed a cable for said purchase. I again looked online they showed it in stock made the same immediate two minute trip in the early morning. The store was not busy although I still had to go ask one of the dozen associates standing around talking to each other for help. After a quick check they said they had two in stock but because they were not were they were supposed to be I was once again dismissed and told "Out of stock!" I get in todays world everyone wants you to order online but sometimes things pop up and having to wait a week for an online order means not being able to complete a project during a few precious moments That you are not working. Best Buy Canada should be ashamed with the lack of customer service training it provides...
