We went in and ordered a log cake. The cashier told us to go pick one out. Grabbed it brought it home. When we were ready to eat it family was excited. We sliced it up and were eating it. I stopped as it tasted different, almost like frozen yogurt. A family member asked me why I wasn't eating, I was polite and said oh I'm still full from dinner and said it tastes different to me. All 7 people out their forks down and said oh my goodness we thought that too. We continued to feed it to our toddler and family ate. Later once family left I started thinking it tasted our almost not like the cake we crave. I out my toddler down, next to my 8 year old and I go in reading a story and she is just shaking. She starts throwing up and shitting. Hours past and we get her to sleep clean and comfortable. Get a message from my mom saying she has cramps stomach pains etc. the WHOLE FAMILY is sick with food poisoning. The next day my mom calls and talks to the supervisor Malik, he says why did you call last night, why did you eat it why why why. For someone in customer service yelling at 70 year old women who just called to let the store know the icecream was off.... wasn't looking for anything, she never ever complains. He was sooo rude, I cannot believe as a supervisor that is how he is role modelling his training to staff. He offered her a replacement. She is at home vomiting and shitting the last thing she wants one to go get a new cake?
My husband calls and speaks to him, says he offered my mom a refund ( which he didn't). He then stated for an exchange. It goes on and on. My husband tells him he is going to come there being the cake and get a refund as Malik offered.
He goes up to Fanshawe Park goes in asks for Malik, brings the cake and right away he shouts I can offer a replacement. The store has other customer in it this evening.
He would not honour what he agreed to on the phone calling my husband a liar. He was screaming in front of customers. We have it all on video. I am a life time lover of DQ and this is not the standard. This store has provided so many cakes for our family celebrations and that is how he treats his returning customers.. 7 of us sick, and he wouldn't even honour. It isn't about the money $27.00 for a lot cake is crazy, but it is the principle of your word. Kindness goes a long way. DQ this supervisor or franchise owner needs a training in customer service or a new supervisor.
As someone who has been in the hospitality industry and customer service industry this is not okay. The whole world is going up in flames and you can't even be kind? A cake in which we were having a celebration has tainted the occasion (temporary) as we won't let him win. I hope public health goes and reviews the hygiene and standards of Food Safe Handling and check to see if Malik...
Read moreI ordered a cake July 4th, Thursday. This was for my daughters birthday on the 9th of July. I told them I was picking it up on the 8th of July on the Monday. They called me on the 5th of July on the Friday and told me I forgot to pick up my daughters cake for the first of July. I had called them back numerous times. Finally I got a hold of somebody there. She had told me sorry about the confusion you can come pick it up whenever you want. I went to go get my daughters cake today. The guy,I'm not sure if he was a manager. He was very, very ignorant. Tells me how can you have a cake ordered on the first for the first. I told him when I heard the voicemail I was wondering why the girl had said the first because I had ordered it on the fourth of July for the 8th to be picked up. I even told the girl this on the phone. I wasn't happy, when I walked out I said you will never get my business again. Man, I am pregnant and my hormones are already wack! So, I still am a little upset ugh. I actually just ordered the same cake on 1105 Wellington Road. They will have it for me tomorrow to pick up between one and two pm. Thanks 1105...
