I am absolutely disgusted. I called your store in Chatham yesterday. I asked if you have a "new" PlayStation 5 available that you've advertised on Facebook as a Black Friday sale. The guy who answered the call assured me you did have one last one and would put it aside for me. I was so grateful. My husband went to pick it up, was confused why it wasnt boxed but thought it was the way the consoles are, when I got home from work, I realised that NEW console are supposed to come in a box. I only learnt through Google that it is not NEW without a box but more likely refurbished. The store was closed when my shift had finished, but we returned to the store as soon as it opened the very next day to get the correct one in a box as it should have been. We were told that you don't have a NEW one that it's only refurbished. Now less than 12 hours and we can't get a refund for an item that was mis-sold to us as NEW and We were told that he's our fault that we didn't know but when somebody tells us you have the NEW console YET it is refurbished. I would understand if we held on to it for more than 24 hours at least but this is literally from when you closed one shift to when you opened the very next day and you're refusing to refund this console. We waited ( not over exaggerating ) for five minutes until I said excuse me can you help us. She didn't even acknowledge that we were there instead she was to worried about taking down Christmas Tinsle. When I then asked how much they would give for a game, she offered me 50 cents. I then seen the game was being sold in there store for 29.99. I owned a movie store which has even less value then video games and I never low balled that bad. I get a company has to make money but giving Ike 2% of the value your selling it for is just bad business and pathetic. It really sucks because I moved to Chatham from London Ontario and there isn't much besides this store for retro video games. I will not visit this store again and i would rather travel to Jumbo Video and drive a hour to London to get proper service and trade in credit than support a horrible...
Read moreI shopped at this place at least once a month buying Pokémon cards, ended up buying a Nintendo switch off Amazon and needed more controllers. Bought two from destination retro but they ended up being wired controllers we decided it would be better to have wireless controllers so thought I would return the ones I bought no less than half an hour earlier just to be told they would not take them back. We did not even use the controllers or unwrap the cords. When asked if they could do anything like store credit was told again no because they are not a large store. Even when I was buying the controllers I made sure to specify that I have no idea what I need and that im horrible with electronics the worker gave me no guidance and now im stuck with two items I don’t want. I would have been happy if they gave me half of what I paid back in store credit but instead they lost all my business and will no longer be recommending anyone...
