Terrible service all around! Got up to the front counter to grab a combo to have "Jamie G" the manager ring up my total and scan my membership scene card only to see that the discount was never applied. " Jamie G" was ready to process the transaction when I STOPPED him from processing it because the 20% off cineclub discount didn't go through. He explained to me "there's nothing I can do, this doesn't happen often but your more than welcome to call Scene and get it corrected. I can't apply your discount. Because it's only happened to you and not many customers I can't call." Can't or won't? Or maybe just to careless and lazy to make the effort? He was very dismissive and unprofessional all around. Offered me a popcorn coupon when I wanted nachos and dog combo. I am a loyal scene and cineclub member and pay my fees for my privileges. If there's an issues with processing a discount on their machines, shouldn't it mean that they should fix it?! Why should it be the responsibility of the member to do the leg work. Jamie didn't even want to retry my card again, I had to insist before he reluctantly tried it again, but to no avail didn't work a second time. "Jamie G" further went to try and pull me aside =S from the busy lineup and just kept saying "sorry there's nothing I can do". Was totally unhelpful, unprofessional and extremely standoffish. He seemed almost content with taking the few extra dollars from a loyal member with no care or concern in the world. If this is the way Chatham-Kent Galaxy is planning on continuing to run their operation, than expect alot of complaints and angry customers. All around fail for Cineplex and "Jamie". Terribly unbelievable. Jeeeze bring back AMC...
Read moreQuite disappointed with the party room service they offer. Had the upstairs "room" and it was not cleaned at all. Tables had leftover cake on them and floor was not vacuumed at all. The window panels have hundred of dead flies on them. Great view!
They take all the kids names and orders when they arrive so when movie previews are able to start they hand out to everyone. Movie started at 11:45 and she started handing out popcorn at 11:50. (She still hadn't taken adults order yet either). Got into the theatre at the last preview, but my wife booked the entire back row (was 18 of us) but our host reserved the middle row... birthday girl wasn't too happy.
After movie, we head back up to the "room" for ice cream cake and presents. They didn't freeze our cake and it could be cut with a napkin. During present time the host came up and asked us to be quiet because this isn't a real room. There are no walls and we see the corridor down below.
When it came time to pay, they included an extra fee that says in our contract is covered, but they fought us on it so we just paid. My wife brought up a few of the concerns to them while paying but the host came out and was defensive.
We have been reimbursed with some movie tickets and pop corn, but when we are paying that much for a party, we expect a lot better service.

Read moreWent to see a movie in a small town. The theatre had 3 seats taken for a 12:30 pm showing. The staff won't let me in because I only had 1 shot of vaccine. I wasn't sick, in fact, and was well enough to come see a movie. Is it really about "safety" or being a puppet? There is going to be more chance for the staff to infect each other during their 8 hour shift there than 4-5 people watching a movie in an empty theater. You guys deserve to lose every bit of business for coming up with such a dumb policy.
Having to show full ID to see a movie is on a whole another level. Even if I have two shots, I still don't feel the need to show my ID to a movie theater staff. You don't need to know who I am. We've tolerated your dirty theaters for years, Cineplex. Don't be acting so clean now. We all know your seats weren't always clean...
