Since leaving this review we have not been back. After leaving the review we went in and the manager confronted me, not in a friendly way either like you would expect. Most managers who would still get a 4 star review and then a little critique would maybe say "We'll work better for you to have a good experience here!". Instead the manager was at our table every time I took a sip of coffee or my partner drank water to refill, he watched our table like a hawk and then when he did bring coffee over one time I told him "My coffee is still to the top it was only refilled a second ago." he said "I want to make sure it's always to the top I wouldn't want another bad review from you." In a very condescending/rude tone. This made me and my partner very uncomfortable and unsettled. It would be one thing if the service was just improved and we got refills as you normally would eating out but this experience was beyond bizarre, we were interrupted constantly like every single time we took a drink. Our waitress was great as usual, it was the manager being egotistical about a review that was left. I also later found out they even had a meeting about my review and were informed to watch out for our table because I simply asked that they come around with coffee every 5-10 minutes as it was a pattern at the time to not really see refills. You can read my first review and see it was by no means a bad review, I simply stated that we rarely got refills and the reaction to that should not have been so ridiculous. After reading some of the reviews left after mine, it seems the manager gets brought up a lot more frequently, maybe he's improved since our experience but I will never be returning nor anyone I know as this was extremely unprofessional behaviour for a manager. I feel bad for the staff at this place, I hope it has gotten better for their sake.
My boyfriend and I enjoy coming to stacked, the food is really good for the prices. The wait staff are very friendly but they need to work on coming around with refills. The past 3 times we've gone there's been no one walking around with coffee for refills or checking back at our table for a water refill. I understand that it can get busy but any breakfast place normally has someone walk around with a coffee pot every few minutes, I feel like the man who's at the front could be doing that sometimes cos he's usually standing...
Read moreMy family and I went in for the first time to Stacked after many friends recommended it. We decided to give it a shot. I ordered the French toast breakfast with ham instead of sausage.
The service was fairly fast and the waitress was very polite. However the food was absolutely terrible. I never make reviews but I left in borderline tears because I hate complaining and I felt like I was being unreasonable by not liking literally anything but my family also not enjoying their meals made me feel like I was valid with my complaints.
Out of my large breakfast, I only ate one piece of bacon and one piece of ham. The French toast had whipped cream that was coated with so much cinnamon it’s the only flavour you could taste and it was so dry that you had to drown it in syrup which made it so sweet it was inedible. I asked for my eggs well done and they were still undercooked. The hashbrowns tasted like a combination of undercooked and overcooked? I don’t even know how to explain it. The ham was also undercooked but I was hungry so I did eat one piece. The toast was barely toasted and the jam was like watery, sweet processed strawberry’s like what you put on cheap ice cream sundaes. My husband got the same meal and agreed with all that I had complaints about but he ate it anyways because he was hungry.
My two daughters each got specialty pancakes and only took a few bites because it was so sweet. We brought the concerns up to the waitress in hopes that a touch of compensation could be offered because I literally barely touched my plate, same with my two children. She apologized and gave us a jar of the jam none of us liked. My husband now has a stomach ache and my kids and I left hungry and $70 less in our pocket.
Unfortunately, we...
Read moreStacked quickly became one of our favourite new breakfast places in town! Their service is always top-notch, and we love the customization options!!! We usually get the pancake stack meal and upgrade our pancakes to one of the MANY delicious specialty options (I was a diehard Cinnabon girl until they switched up the menu and brought out the Biscoff ones), but this time I branched out to try their classic eggs Benedict (which were perfectly runny, and the hollandaise was luscious and delicious) and my partner tried their steak and eggs for the first time (which he said was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked to order!!)! We did share a side of their special apple pie (cheesecake?) pancakes with the Biscoff crumble and oh my gosh were they ever good..... I can't say enough good things about this place though, so I definitely recommend you try it!! On a weekend you might have to put your name on the list and wait a few minutes for a text from the comfort of your vehicle, but trust me it's well worth it! You are guaranteed to get friendly smiles and great service both from the owner and our regular waitress (I'm terrible with names, but you'll know who they are if you go even twice!!), and guaranteed to get a great and filling meal - especially if you opt for some fancy pancakes and be sure to holly up your home fries! I've turned many friends and family on to this place already, so I know you won't be disappointed if you give them a shot!! So go and enjoy!!! Update: Have been back more than a few times of course! Today I came with a friend for his birthday, and he LOVED the food! Our server this time was Bianca, who was a lot of fun and took great care of us!!...
