Bought the avrh3800x denon. Waited ten days to make this review. I am so happy with it. The first denon I bought was the avrh1700h. Not made anymore. Had so many problems with it. It ended up with a new MainBoard. Ha. No one believed me. The techs did. Anyway, if you can get a 'good' denon, you're sailing. Yes. The Yamahas are way worth it. Way, way. Fabulous receivers. But for my needs, small apartment, small livingroom, lots of streaming, don't want to piss off neighbour's, the Denon is beyond compare. 9.4. 105 watts per channel. Well it has 9.4 channels. So what is that? Close to 10k watts. It is 30lbs. Computer modulated and controlled. My woofer is powered at 100 watts. The only thing I have to complain about it is itsounds so Perfect, you cannot tell if it is too loud! That is a trademark of upscale excellent systems. Fool the ears, and you have a monster system. My man, Karan, was a dream helping me. I wonder if he knows Syrian/Persian history. He is named after one of the seven families who helped Khusrau, the greatest Persian Emporer, stabilize his throne. A throne from which much Justice was administered. That is why, Khusrau, is called, The Just. The Karan family was instrumental in Khusraus reign. Don't be embarrassed Karan, your good help, earned you an explanation of the name you are embarrassed by. Love you buddy. Just thought of this! I bought Soundstage speakers on my last round with the store. Not particularly powerful speakers. Rated at 200 watts. Each. I have 5. But. For low powered systems like my old avrh1700h, they were Great. I couldn't afford a 1k avr plus too much on replacing 5 speakers. Soundstage was on sale. So. Great medium level speakers. I thought. And with the elevated power output on the avr3800h , they are exceptional. Just scary good. I go 'tinnitus' when I go to the bathroom. (But do get major speakers if you want to take the 3800 for a few spins. 105 watts per speaker at high output, is, monster.) And still not loud enough to upset my neighbour's. Hey, if you 'stream', try 'Spooky', from Dusty Springfield. Nope, not that old, but interesting for audiophiles. My old speakers, 5, we're JVC. Back when. 30 yrs old. Visions won't steer you wrong. Ask a lot of questions. You need to know some of what you want. Not brand names, output, etc. Just, what do you want? And what can you get? Talk. Take...
Read moreI purchased a Television on December 23rd, it is now February 5th and I still have not received it. Sometime around December 26th I received an email from Visions saying it had been shipped out, but as it turns out, it wasn’t even sent to Canada Post until 4 full days later. No matter, it was right around the holidays, I understand mistakes happen and it’s a busy time. I then received a phone call from a man at Canada Post explaining that they had received around 10 televisions with no shipping info and no return info but one of them had a packing slip with my name and number on it. He needed to know where they had come from so he could send them back for information. I sent visions a customer support ticket explaining what had happened and received an incredibly condescending email telling me that we were still experiencing a pandemic and that Canada Post was experiencing shipping delays, even though Canada Post had absolutely nothing to do with the missing information. I responded, and received no further communication. At some point, my product was clearly labeled and sent out because it made it all the way to Stoney Creek ON. On January 9, before getting stuck. I got in touch with Canada post after a couple weeks and had to wait until February 1st for them to launch an investigation. On February 1st, I received communication from Canada Post, informing me that as the recipient, I could not take any further action and that Visions had to take the next steps. I have now tried calling many times and cannot get through due to “large call volumes” so I sent ANOTHER customer support ticket on February 1, 5 WHOLE DAYS AGO and have received absolutely no communication from Visions. DO NOT order from Visions unless you want to take the chance that they take your money and you never hear from them again. I am appalled at the lack of regard for the customer. I would absolutely never recommend Visions as a retailer to...
Read moreI went to the store to order a 65" Hisense TV since the one that Costco delivered to us was cracked. After having worked in retail for 18 years, 4 of which was for Best Buy, I have a very high standard of what good customer service is.
Alex helped me make the purchase so that the tv was shipped to the store. He walked me through all of the steps in the process of how it gets from the store to our home and did a great job pitching the 5 yr extended warranty, which we did invest in because it was worthwhile. If you don't use the funds, you get it back as a store credit at the end and Alex showed me exactly where to go to get that done. We also really liked that the store has their own dedicated delivery personnel whose work ethic Alex spoke highly of and was evident during delivery.
The TV arrived at their store in the timeframe that Alex estimated was possible (which is phenomenal considering it's December 22nd). Alex called to let us know that Steve (who takes care of the deliveries) was able to get it to us today.
Steve and Rick --and Cart Russell-- arrived on time, took the tv out of the box carefully, placed it on the stand and plugged it in to make sure that it worked, then peeled off all of the protective film while Rick loaded up the remote with batteries. It took only about 20 minutes and off they went after a full day of deliveries, still as friendly and energetic as when they arrived.
I must also mention Adam who keeps insisting that he's Alex and he's the one giving the good service ; )
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the staff at the London South location. It's been a long time since I've felt like I was a customer that an electronics retailer really wanted to impress.
Well done boys! Merry Christmas &...
