Dear Montana’s Restaurant Head Office,
I hope this email finds you well.I am writing to you with deep concern and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred at your Bank St 2216 Bank St location in Ottawa involving your General Manager.
On March 6, 2024, I visited your establishment and was seated at the bar, enjoying my time alone. During my visit, I encountered a distressing situation involving you your general manager , who treated me in a disrespectful manner in front of other patrons. Without any valid reason, she proceeded to ask me to leave the restaurant.
Allow me to provide a detailed account of the events that transpired. While seated at the bar, I noticed some individuals whom I had not seen before walking out onto the patio to smoke. Curious, I followed suit and joined them on the patio for a smoke. At no point was I informed that smoking was not allowed on the patio. However, she said that she approached me and claimed that she had warned me three times not to smoke or vape, despite the fact that I had never been approached or informed by her or any member of your staff prior to this encounter.
not only embarrassed me in front of other patrons but also deeply hurt me. As someone who struggles with medical issues and depression, her treatment exacerbated my emotional distress, and I felt utterly disrespected and discriminated against.
I urge you to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter by reviewing the security camera footage to verify that your general manager did not communicate with me prior to asking me to leave. It is imperative that the truth be brought to light and that appropriate action is taken to address this unjust treatment.
If prompt action is not taken to address this matter and provide me with a satisfactory response, I will have no choice but to seek legal recourse, as the emotional toll of this incident has been significant. I implore you to take this matter seriously and ensure that such behavior is not tolerated within your organization.
I eagerly await your prompt response and resolution to...

The other three of us went in a minute later and asked where she was and were told nobody had come in (despite the fact that the mother had told the girl working door to direct us to the patio) so we looked for and found her ourselves.
We selected a table and sat there for 5 - 10 minutes and had to get up and find a server to serve us because the whole staff was busy serving people who had come in after us WHO WERE SITTING ON THE PATIO NEXT TO US (two tables). Service was not consistent, there were three people checking on us when they had a spare moment in the middle of serving other tables and one guy went to get a pad and pen to take our orders while another guy came behind him and asked for our orders.
My wife ordered the nachos to find they had barely any cheese on them. She asked them if they make her nachos with more cheese but they simply placed the nachos in the oven and burnt them and argued that cheese had been added. The bbq chicken was simply grilled chicken with bbq sauce slathered over it once it was done cooking and ready to be served.
I gave the guy who ended up being our server (out of the three that were randomly checking our table) my scene card but he did not scan it even though he told me had scanned it "even before the meal is paid for". He then proceeded to act confused when I asked him how it was possible to get the scene points points if nothing was paid for.
Mediocre food at best....
Read moreI'm no longer a fan of Montanas to be honest, it is incredibly overpriced for the value of what you're receiving. We went for mother's Day and we still had a wonderful night being able to spend time together but the service was really not good and I was unhappy about it. She would pass by our table, look over, we would try to get her attention and she would be walking away already. She seemed to have a lack of care entirely and it was really felt in our dining experience unfortunately. My mom had asked her if she had already inputted her drink into the system while holding a menu, and our server responded "yes I have" and walked away, I completely understand that maybe she didn't realize my mom was asking because she was curious about another drink but walking away so quickly after just felt so rude. We were at a table that was so close to another; that us and the other family kept having to scoot around when someone got up, they often had to move their baby in the highchair to do this and we all felt really bad. I think this was on the part of poor planning from Montanas. All together I paid 168.75 for 4 people dining (which includes an 18% tip) and I am so horribly upset about how much it cost for the service that we got:/ I only tipped well because I understand that our server would not be the only one impacted by her bad service, tips go to kitchen folks as well and hostesses etc. But we will not be returning...
