Starbucks — Restaurant in Ottawa

The staff at this location makes it one of the best Starbucks in the city. I've been coming here for a long time as I have lived/worked in the south end for many years. I've always found the staff extra friendly here and the present staff are definitely the best group they've had working here in a long time. One of my favourite baristas is Jason who is always welcoming, friendly, and takes the time to say hi, ask about your day, and just super down to earth and personable--and he always has a smile! If he's not already a manager, I'd be very surprised. From my restaurant industry experience, I know customer service can be challenging at times especially during busy/stressful times, and you end up with impatient or unhappy costumers. SO Kudos to Jason for his amazing service, no matter how busy this place gets. I also really like Rana and Kristianna (hope I spelled their names correctly!!), as they are very kind and friendly, and chat with everyone. Coffee drinkers can generally expect crazy-long lineups at this popular location; it's almost always busy & finding a seat can be difficult, if you're hoping to stay. That said, I am always served by some of the friendliest & loveliest staff, most of whom I've never even seen without a smile, and my sometimes complicated orders have always been made both correctly & well! If you don't mind not sitting at Starbucks to enjoy your drink, you have all of Chapters at your feet, and you're welcome to stroll around, takeaway cup in hand, perusing their books and beautiful items at your leisure (this is among my most favourite things to do). Come here often on my break, or just a place to come study. The staff are very nice, quick at taking and making my order. They say "Hi" to customers as they walk into the coffee shop, and they make suggestions when it comes to drinks. They will suggest something new, but similar to what you have originally asked for. For example, they now have their holiday drinks, and the barista suggested the Hazelnut drink for me, and gave her personal opinion. I told her I was hesitant about it, but she reassured me that if I did not like the drink, she would make my original request with no additional charge. Turns out, I really liked the drink.
