Someone in a shed stopped me and asked for $2 each admission fee for the path up the hill to see the Percé Rock a little closer. I later found out you won’t see much more after you paid. The 5-min path is not particularly well maintained and the boy didn’t wear a uniform or anything and he requested us to pay only in cash or debit which made it very shady. I wondered if it is just a random person trying to make some quick money out of unprepared tourists. Most were shocked that they had to pay as there was no sign or anything and it doesn’t say it goes toward the maintenance of the scenic spot. some turned away (like us) and some were very doubtful and tried fo gather enough to get up as it’s already 90% up the hill. I recommend passing by the end of the day. When the sun is setting you'll get unique shades from the sun hitting the right of the rock thru the clouds.
There's free parking just at the skirt, don't make the mistake of parking at the main Percé avenue, it's a little bit of a long walk. There's a guy collecting a $1 entrance fee to the viewpoint. No toilettes nor other facilities...
