La Boîte à Fruits de Mer — Restaurant in Percé

There was a waiting line the day we arrived of about 45min, which would've been worth the wait if the food was good. Service was nice, all the ladies were happy and helpful. But it took about an hour to get served (they had full house this day). We ordered a sangria and a pineapple mule, they were just decent but tasted mostly like juice. Afterwards a soup of the day which was a very basic vegetable cream. Our main dishes were a smoked salmon penne pasta that lacked flavor and salmon, although the portion was generous, it had very little tiny shredded pieces of salmon, could not tell apart from smoked or not. My husband had a Salmon maple glazed that arrived with burned rice, basic salad and an overly glazed small salmon portion. In general the food felt overhyped, their staff is great and all but there's definitely better places to eat in Percé other than this, leave it as a last...

I think this was the best dinner I have ever had! I thought the host was upselling the place when he was talking about it, but honestly the menu is amazing and he was not lying in the slightest. I came here last year and they had these cones of lobster, crab, or shrimp, and those were amazing and unique. The revamp of the menu has been next level and the food only gets better each year! The food was fresh and I shared many entrées with my spouse. The raspberry scallops were my favourite, as they were sweet, savoury, and refreshing. My boyfriends favourite was the salmon tartar with dill and the smoked salmon; the tartar has a nice balance of salmon flavour to savoury dill flavours, whereas the smoked salmon was equally as amazing, with the perfect amount of smokiness and amazing quality of fish!

The food was GREAT! Went with a friend of mine and we shared the captain's platter. The snow crab was delicious, although the lobster was a tad overdone. Leaving 3 stars because of the awful service. One of the staff members had a medical emergency while we were dining. We were more than understanding of this crisis, however, after things were resolved we watched tables that were seated after us receive their food before us. We waited an hour and a half to eat. The server said she couldn't do anything for us because we didn't drink alcohol and she had offered the other tables free shots for the wait times. The least she could have done is compensated our non-alcoholic beverages. As someone who has worked in the industry for 10+ years you need to do better than that when you have customers spending...
