We have been ordering takeout from Denver's Pizza for years, partly because we live very close and the food is always very good. Unfortunately the quality of the food and service since the new owners took over has greatly declined.
We ordered online but shortly after received a phone call from an out of province area code advising that they no longer make the chicken sandwiches we ordered. We tried to choose several other menu options but were told the no longer make most of them. We ended up choosing lasagna, a chicken sub, and a small pizza. About 10 minutes later we received another phone call asking what kind of sub we wanted again as the person had forgotten.
When we went to pick up, the cost was the same as the total for the online order that had been changed, so the person working there called the owner to confirm the price. The online menu stated the lasagna was $9.95 with only one size listed but was told they charged us $12.95 for a large because that was the same price as the chicken sandwich we couldn't get; we were not given the option to choose what size we wanted. The person working stated the new owner had bought the place a few weeks ago and she showed us the new menu, which was significantly smaller than the old one and seems to be transitioning away from the local pizza/burger joint fare.
When we got home, there were no fries with the chicken sub, despite the website stating all subs, sandwiches, and burgers come with fries (and us receiving fries in the past) and the gravy we ordered on the side, turned out to be watery au jus sauce. The lasagna was odd, with big chunks of celery in it, and was very watery.
Unfortunately, due to this experience, we will no longer be ordering from...
Read moreI've been a fan of Denver's Pizza for years. I won't be back. When new management takes over, change your menu. Do something so customers who are used to buying from this location, aren't surprised when they get home and the food isn't what they ordered.
Denver's used to serve Regina style pizza. Thick crust, heavy toppings. Thick red pizza sauce.
This is what I expect to get at Pizza Pizza for 1/3 of the cost.
I feel like I got ripped off. Prices and Menu didn't change, but the pizza they are serving is significantly lower quality for both sauce and topping amount.
Also please check the chicken wings you are frying aren't freezer burnt before giving them out to customers.
The only nice thing I have to say is the lady who helped me was wonderful, so...
Read moreOrdered from Denver's Pizza. 15 minutes later I get a text message from Chow Local saying "Sorry we have rejected your order, we are too busy atm. We have refunded your order. - Denver's Pizza" (I know it was Chow Locals number not Denvers from message history) an hour later I get a call actually from Denvers pizza yelling at ME for canceling the order and saying Chow Local told them I cancelled. I told him about the text message I DO still have the message saved and proof of it and he just kept arguing with me that Chow Local said I did till I had to hang up on him. Messaged Chow Local - so far no response. This is a terrible way to treat...
