Last night, September 20th, 2025 I went there to buy some groceries. I picked items based on my understanding of price tag on the items. When I approached the cashier, he avoided selling the items (see the picture) and he brought up this excuse that store employees had put wrong price tag by mistake. I showed him all items from the same and all had the same price tags.
In Ontario, Canada, stores are generally expected to honor the price displayed on the item, even if it's lower than the intended price. This is based on the principle of "implied contract" or "advertising doctrine," which suggests that a store's advertisement or price display constitutes an offer to sell the product at that price.
Store's Obligations Honoring Prices: If a store displays a price on an item, they are generally expected to sell it at that price, even if it's a mistake. Consumer Protection: The Consumer Protection Act, 2002, and the Competition Act regulate business practices in Ontario, including pricing and advertising.
I will file a complaint with the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services if they believe the store is engaging in unfair business practices.
I hope this will be an unforgettable lesson for the store owner.
In response to the store's reply: There were about 50 pieces of the same item on the shelf. All had the same price tag. Also, both cashier and another store employee confirmed that store employees had put this price tags by mistake. Please do not change the core of issue, by accusing customers to tempering the price tags, this is absolutely false accusation. Because customers cannot print out 50 price tags and put them on...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited this store three times, each time leaving disappointed. The products were generally stale, and I experienced health issues including stomachaches and diarrhea. 1st time, I bought "Gooshfil" (Persian dessert), which was dry and not fresh, and "Sohan" (Persian sweet), which caused nausea and stomachache.
2nd time, I got "Dolme" (grape leaves), which was excessively oily and seemed old, resulting in severe stomachache.
3rd time, the "Shirazi Salad" lacked dressing and some cucumbers were rotten. The "Halva" was too oily, leading to stomachache and vomiting throughout the night. My experiences were very negative, and I wish I could give zero stars. I will not return, as it was a waste of money and detrimental...
