UPDATE I don't recommend this place anymore because they are very unfriendly and they will make you wait for 10mins before finally accepting order. They won't even tell you that they are busy or are about to close. They had plenty of time for my order but they made me wait 10mins this time (last time was 5min) and they started cleaning. One of the young male worker seems like he doesn't care even if customer is standing around and has the dead fish eyes. Maybe he shouldn't be working here if he doesn't want to work. This is very disgusting business practice. They could have simply told me that they won't take anymore orders but they decided to waste my time. Very disappointed. I would never visit again. I hope they smarten up soon.
I am a foodie. I would travel an hour or wait an hour for a good food. I also had various fried chicken places in korea and in Canada. In canada, the closest korean chicken place was either mymy chicken in toronto or chimac in victoria. However, starting today this is my favourite chicken place. The chicken wasn't very well trimmed but the YangYum sauce was pretty much identical to korean fried chicken franchise in Korea. I think it is a chain from korea but I could be wrong. The chicken crust is really crispy even after getting soaked by sauce and left alone for 30mins. The chicken itself wasn't that great of a quality but it's acceptable. I would higly recommend eatting it with pickles radish. Trust me the pickled radish here is really delicious. It makes a fantastic combination with fried chicken. I would visit again. I am worried about health now because I might end up visiting here...
Read moreSo I had to call them 7 times just to place an order. They do pick up but it seems like they just pick up and put it aside, since I could hear the conversations but they were not taking to me. During the 7th try, they did talk to me; one time a guy then another a girl. Unfortunately, they couldn’t speak English or Korean. The guy was mumbling the same thing repeatedly. It wasn’t even funny. Then, they told me that it would take about 30 minutes. I arrived there after 30 minutes and still waited for another 15 minutes. Anyways, as for the fried chicken itself, it was mediocre at best. I’ve been to this location several times and it used to be good. It seems like the quality is going down every visit. This time, it was just “Secret Spicy” that I ordered and it tasted strange, as if the sauce was mixed with another type. Still, they are keeping their pricing largely the same, while all the other similar restaurants are pushing them up like crazy, so that’s a good thing. So, for the best experience with them, just place an order in person, and then browse or shop around the H-Mart...

Let's start with the Golden Original, an olive oil fried boneless chicken dish that tastes light and crispy with tender meat inside. It seems relatively healthy but not quite as good as the red hot Secret Spicy version! The latter was my favourite, brushed in a sweet spicy sauce made of tomato, garlic and onion, and instantly transports your taste buds to Seoul. Bite a bit and then you know! Menu includes both boneless and bone-in options.
This was finger-licking fresh out of the box. Imagine having PhDs researching these perfect flavor combinations; that's supposedly what happens at BB.Q's Chicken University. Be sure to order ahead since each batch is made to order and can take 30 minutes with long lines.
I had a good feeling, when the first folks I saw leaving H-Mart were carrying 6 boxes! Each large box has 16-20 pcs, so that's serious love for Korean...
