This place is small and when you go to the store it doesn't feel like a restaurant at all. The woman doesn't speak much English but speak enough to serve you what you need. I have tried the Liang Pi as the two reviewers suggested and it tastes very good. First, the price is so cheap its under $10, its just $7.50 I don't know where you can get any food for that price any more let alone any noodle dishes. Second, the texture of the noodles is so good it feels very gelatinous since it feels like a rice noodle but bigger and more bouncier. The tofu tastes like cheese, it was the highlight of the show besides the chili oil which was not spicy but so flavorful and flagrant. I am not Chinese but I have been to many Chinese restaurants for more than 2 decades since I've been growing up here and its amazing. It's rare for many restaurants to bring a smile to my face but this one did, some good food is just good but amazing dishes can make people smile. The dish is amazing not because its complex but because the dish is so simple yet it brings such amazing flavor,l. I never had tofu that tasted like cheese before. I know tofu can have a texture like cheese but to literally make it taste like cheese just amazed me. For such a small place this restaurant is truly...
Read moreSammi's Yummys is a hidden Gem in Richmond Hill, I heard this place from a friend, saying that it offers the most authentic Liang Pi, so I called for takeout, my order included Liang Pi (red chily oil flavor), Xiang La Fen and Dan Dan Mian (noodle), the owner was super nice and the portion is big.
What I ordered all tasted amazing, the texture of the different types of noodle is excellent and most importantly the red chili oil is to die for! It may seem intimidatingly hot judging from the red color but don't worry it is more aromatic than hot. I have tried Liangpi in many places including in China and for sure this is one of the best, maybe THE best in GTA.
Make sure you ask how to prepare Xiang La fen and Dan Dan Mian because they are supposed to be served HOT.
I will come back a lot and order Liang Pi for summer. Right now only takeout available and can choose from boxed or...
Read moreI was directed to store by accident by google maps while searching for another store offering the same food. Man! I am so happy this happened as it has THE MOST AUTHENTIC Xi'An LiangPi(a type of flat cold wide noodle made out of flour through a rather time-consuming process) in GTA for all the 20 some years I have been here. Highly...
