I love sushi, I can eat it everyday ❤️ I went to Tomo Sushi for a few times already. The first time I was conservative in my order because I didn’t know how it tasted. Somehow amazingly, it was more than enough. I still remember how fresh and juicy the sushi & sashimi were, the moment I bit into it. It was as smooth as silk and delicious. The shrimp tempura is the largest I’ve seen. I think my friend was skeptical of the price. However when the order came out and tasted, it was worth every penny. I loved the experience so much that I ordered quite a bit for two on the second visit.
The second time I went it was very very busy. I waited for 30’, so I went around and did some shopping. This time I learned something: not everyone wants to be on camera or they just want to focus on the task at hand. Tbh it was the first time I got cautious… However I appreciate my server Sophia and management handled the situation with great tact & care. They addressed someone took pics and posted a bad reviews before. When the food came out, I was again amazed with its devious taste and beautiful display. It has this lux feeling. I went to so many many sushi and nowhere created this unique food sensation. I think you have to go and experience for yourself. I can’t really pick a favorite, yes it’s that great!
I ordered a lot as you can see and it was plenty I can’t finish. Something random, if you want to know whether a sushi restaurant is legit, you can eat the ginger & wasabi first. Trust me, sometimes ginger & wasabi are tasteless in some restaurants.
Sophia brought out the free dessert at last. I thought it was just a scoop but look at them bowl 😍😍😍 it’s fried ice cream which can be a dish by itself.
Restaurant is not too small but can be very busy. When I went, all tables are full.

My recent visit to TOMO on a Wednesday night marked my first time returning there since the pandemic. The transformation was stark; where once the restaurant buzzed with energy and the sight of sushi boats at every table, I was now met with a quiet and nearly empty space. This new quiet and empty atmosphere proved to be an entirely different dining experience.
We ordered three different sushi rolls: Spider, Richmond Hill, and California. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the sushi seemed to have diminished. The rice appeared less fresh, and the rolls were bulked up with fillers, missing the finer details that should be normal. Notably, the California roll lacked both roe and sesame seeds, staples of its traditional garnish. The Spider roll's soft-shell crab, typically a highlight for its juicy texture, was dry and encased in what felt like stale, deep-fried batter. Conversely, the Richmond Hill roll stood out for its size, freshness, and flavor, raising questions about the inconsistent treatment of classic selections.
Despite the food's shortcomings, the service remained commendable. The server was professional and personable, maintaining a cheerful demeanor throughout our meal. The staff was attentive, ensuring we had ample ginger and wasabi and keeping our drinks replenished.
However, the pricing did not seem to reflect the quality on offer. At approximately $50 for three rolls, the value proposition has undoubtedly shifted, possibly explaining the restaurant's current lack of customers. If this is the reason the place isn’t busy anymore, I can understand the frustration of past regulars. Perhaps a change of chef would liven the...

The Holy Moly Roll was a standout dish. It was a California Roll with spicy mayo, tobiko, scallion, and unagi sauce, topped with seared salmon and scallops, providing a delightful textural contrast and fresh flavour.
The Tomo Roll was equally tasty. It was a Dynamite Roll with the heat of spicy salmon and jalapeño, combined with the richness of eel and avocado. This added an extra layer of complexity to an already flavorful creation.
Both rolls had rich flavour profiles. The rice-to-filling ratio was great, with the rice itself being on the softer and stickier side, which fits my liking.
Their Shrimp Tempura was yummy too. The batter was light and crispy, and the shrimp was succulent. The presentation was also nice.
The Salmon Tartare was fresh, simple but delicate.
The restaurant was spacious and clean, and the service was really great. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, frequently checking on our needs with genuine smiles.
Overall, I was happy about this experience. Would revisit in the near future to try other items on the menu.
