I made the trip from Mississauga to Niagara Golf Warehouse after hearing great reviews from colleagues and friends. Given the distance I traveled, I was eager to experience the store for myself and hoped it would be a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but.
I arrived prepared to invest upwards of $500āintending to use the simulator, have my clubs re-gripped, and purchase new apparel for the season ahead. I spent over 20 minutes browsing, taking my time through various sections of the store. Despite this, not a single employee acknowledged meānot even a glance or a simple greeting. The store was completely empty, yet my presence went entirely unnoticed.
What made this experience even more disheartening was what happened next. Shortly after, an elderly white man entered the store and was immediately greeted with enthusiasm. Staff approached him right away, asking if he needed assistance. The contrast was glaring and difficult to ignore.
I donāt know if it was my ethnicity, my appearance, or my attire that made me invisible to the staff, but as a middle-aged Filipino man, I cannot overlook the possibility that implicit bias played a role in how I was treated. Regardless of intent, this kind of selective service is unacceptable. Every customer deserves to be acknowledged with basic courtesy and respect.

Unless you want to go for two downtown toronto trips through traffic just to find out where your package is i STRONGLY recommend you message them to go with another delivery service or pay the extra 10 dollars for them to ship it with someone else. Honestly just save your 10 dollars and get online orders shipped through golftown or canadian pro shop online if you can. They deal with fleetoptics or fedex. I ordered many things from them and itās come in the morning no problems at all. The even better thing is that they use a delivery service with a customer service that actually respond to you. NGW would rather use a deliver service that makes their customers lives difficult to save them a few dollars. Save your money and donāt order anything online from here. First time i ordered here and it will definitely be my last.
The delivery guy didnāt even ring my doorbell he just put a note on my door saying i have to pick my package up at the nearest location 50 minutes drive from my house. Wasted more money on gas than express shipping. They didnāt try to deliver it again nor try to even see if i was home. On top of that, you can only pick up your package after 12pm - 3pm on weekdays only. I saw on reviews that if you live in an apartment the experience gets even worse! I could have just driven to NGW and it would have been faster than dealing with this. Please stop using Canpar as your delivery...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had never golfed before. I tried a few times at the driving range and was so bad, I couldnāt even hit the ball. I continuously swung at air and left feeling embarrassed and defeated. Then, I did some golf lessons with Dave Tannahill. My goodness, I learned so much from him. After my first lesson, I was hitting the ball way more and after my second and third, I was getting it close to a target. Dave is an excellent golf instructor and he has taught me so much and gotten me to actually enjoy golf. Heās passionate about the sport, extremely knowledgeable, very talented, noticeable of mistakes and filled with tips on how to improve. Iām actually enjoying golf with friends and family. I will continue to do lessons as the months/years go on and appreciate all Daveās help with teaching me.
