Tatertown — Local services in St. Catharines

I can no longer recommend this place. It no longer has a dedicated fryer for gluten free fries. This may have never been the case from my original review as the staff probably did not have the training to provide the information. Unfortunately I won’t be going back.

Tatertown, located in St. Catherine's, is an excellent chip wagon establishment with a welcoming and attentive staff. Their fries are delicious and reasonably priced, and they accept both credit and debit payments. A dedicated fryer for fries would be fantastic to remove any impurities of other food. I honestly don't know where to start with this chip wagon. Maybe with the fact that I'm pretty sure the oil they use to fry their food is older than I am? Everything tasted like it had been soaking in a garage for a month. The fries were soggy, the burger was drier than the Sahara, and the gravy? Let's just say it had a weird film on top that I'm pretty sure wasn't supposed to be there. I wanted a change from McDonald's or Wendy's and have been hooked since.

I had called ahead asking if they take American Express (you never know because some dine-in places don't, but these guys do!).

Everything from the brief phone conversation to my in-person interaction with the nice guys I met that day has been great! I've become a bit of a regular.

You get a decent portion of food and your choice of drink (if you get the $12.00 combo). Hot and fresh everytime.
