Sunset Grill — Restaurant in St. Catharines

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience at Sunset Grill today. The only reason I'm leaving this review, is that the manager made a lot of apologies and excuses, but did not really understand why we weren't happy. The food was good once we got it, but it took 45 minutes for that to happen. My wife and I are very patient, and had a nice chat, but it became apparent after 15-20 minutes that they had lost our order. All of the tables around us had been served, so we asked the waitress, and she confirmed it had been lost, and indicated our order would be prioritized. That didn't happen. Unfortunately, it took another 20 minutes, as we watched all the tables around us get served for a 2nd time. We were just getting up to leave, and they finally brought our food. The waitress apologized, and blamed the kitchen for not prioritizing the order. We paid our bill, and explained to the manager why we didn't leave a tip. The manager apologized, blaming staff that phoned in sick, not recognizing that the poor service was the fault of the people that did come to work that morning. There's lots of breakfast places in St. Catharines, so we'll go someplace...

Been coming here once in a while and its always something... never called to complain before, this time I am not going back... Call in my order for pickup as I usually do but this time I had a couple of requests (nothing crazy) Meat lovers Omelet, no toast or potatoes but instead just side of bacon (4 pieces). I was then asked if i wanted fruit instead and maybe a coffee which I agreed to both asking if I may have milk with my coffee. Get there everything is ready on time but comes up too $33.... i was a bit shocked but whatever, I figured i would just order something off the menu next time (which that Omelet meal is $17.99) get to work to discover cream in my coffee (cant drink cream at all) and Burnt bacon... Omelet is 7/10. Call back because im pretty irritated but calm and explain everything and asked if the manager or supervisor could call me back, finding out it was the manager or supervisor that took my order and made my order. This was all a few days ago and no call back so now I have to write this out of principle. I'm not saying don't go here but damn... call your clients back if they have an issue and left a number... will never be...

Friendly staff and wonderful fast service. Food was out like lightning. Very accommodating. At Fairviews Sunset grill I got the waffle and fruit salad so here at Welland asked for blueberry pancakes and that same fruit salad, while I said I wasn't too worried about the price I was surprised to see that fruit salad add on being nearly the price of the pancakes themselves, a $7+ charge for some fruit seems abit steep especially when you compare the waffle with no fruit and waffle with fruit to be just a few dollars more. Even 5 would be been more reasonable but the food was delicious and fresh nonetheless.

The only other thing of note is their hallway for the bathrooms, they must keep their garbage nearby because that hallway stunk. Not just a little either. It really stunk like garbage so I wouldn't reccomend sitting by the hallway opening.

Otherwise place was clean and nice. Don't order fruit salad on anything else put the menus waffle because you'll be charged out the...
