Literally the worst experience at a cheese monger I’ve ever experienced. I asked if I would be able to purchase a small amount of cheese (around 20-30g) of smoked Gouda and not only was I made to feel dumb inside the shop by the lady behind the counter, but I was literally denied buying it. I want to emphasize I wanted to purchase it, not sample it. They had literally no other customers in the store, it made no sense to me whatsoever to deny a purchase to anyone. I’ve never experienced not being able to buy a small amount of cheese from any mongers from Kensington at Global Cheese, to La Salumeria. Maybe think about being kind to a customer who actually would’ve loved to try your cheese instead of being rude about such a small purchase. I had my family outside waiting who wanted to try their cheeses but felt uncomfortable asking to sample things which is literally why we wanted to buy such a small amount in the first place before buying 100g...

Last time I was in they had a magnificent 36 month Comté (in the gruyere family of cheeses). The friendly gentleman at the counter informed me that it's rare to see a Comté of that age outside of Switzerland. I love the cheeses here but my partner has been surprised by high price tags of the cheeses after they cut it, weight and put the sticker price tag on it. Sticker stock!! No one wants to unexpectedly spend more than $20+ on a small piece...
